A pleasant but not perfect place.

Posted Nov 5, 2015
Pros: It's in a good location. The exercise room and pool is a good bonus. We enjoyed the free continental breakfast.
Cons: Working ice machines would be great. And fix the sauna.
Location: The location is great. Several restaurants and shops nearby, and close to the lake. Excellent location for our plans.
Our room was clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly. Unfortunately, none of the ice machines were working. No ice for our room. The sauna was also not working. Not a bad place for the price, though.

Not what I was expecting

Posted Oct 20, 2015 on Hotels
I pulled into the hotel and was astonished at what a dump it looked like. Before going in I was trying to figure out how to get out of being there. I actually searched to find rooms in another hotel and there weren't any available. Once in the office I discovered that the rooms that were supposed to be charged at check in were actually already charged to the card I used to book them with. This was a problem since someone else was going to pay for the rooms. The woman at the front desk blamed Expedia.com however I'm not sure I believed that. Whatever, we'll just exchange money. There was an empty Bud Light can on the counter of the front desk with gnats flying around it. That was strange. Once to the room we discovered that it was being heated by a space heater plugged in at the sink area. We called the front desk to find out what was going on and the reply was the boiler was broken and being worked on and that the space heater was a temporary fix. I was paranoid all night that some other guest at the hotel (there weren't very many) was going to set the place on fire. The pool was decent and since pretty much noboby else was staying there my kids had it all to themselves.

We made our reservations, through Hotel.com, which was very easy. and decided to pay for our reservations at the hotel. But when we got to the hotel they had already charged our credit card for all three rooms we had booked. The rooms should have been ready at 3:00pm, We weren't able to get into our rooms until after 4pm. At the time the rooms were not stocked with toileteries, our room looked like the dirty sheets were still on, there was mascara all over the pillow cases. I was disappointed in the hotel it looked nothing like the online pics. Very dirty and musty smelling, its ok to be an older hotel, but take pride in its appearence and keep it fresh and clean.

Good value

This hotel is under renovation and will probably be very nice when finished. The price was good, the bed was clean and comfortable and there was a good breakfast in the morning.

Nasty smelly fridge

Posted Sep 30, 2015 on Hotels
The refrigerator had not been cleaned out there was food and worms that i am sure was used by a fisherman that were left in the fridge and made the fridge smelly. I had to remove the nasty stuff from the fridge myself and I had to ask for some cleaner and a rag to clean up the smell and then I just didn't bother using it as I just couldn't get past the thought of the worms being in the food fridge. Who does that?
