Great hotel in a great locatiion

Posted Nov 12, 2017
Pros: Great location for visiting Petra. Very comfortable bed. Friendly and courteous staff
Cons: Lifts looked in need of some TLC.
Location: Petra is the obvious big attraction. we were too tired to explore further, but there was a souk about 10 minutes walk from the hotel.
Note - I’d booked the Royal Suite as a 30th wedding anniversary present for my husband, so can’t speak for the other rooms. Petra is amazing but you do a lot of walking, so after 9-13 miles each day it was nice to only have to stagger across the road. The common parts are smart - lots of marble, carved wood and huge hanging lamps. We didn’t try the pool, but it looked well maintained. Food was well prepared with a good range of choice and a mixture of local and western options. We ate in the restaurant one evening and had the buffet supper the other two. Different dining experiences but both good value. Breakfast was a buffet selection and again a good range of choices. We ate at different times each morning and on the day we ate later it didn’t feel like things had run out. There are two lifts, which felt slightly creaky and were the only bit of the hotel which seemed slightly under par. There was one power cut but the power was off for less than a minute and the generator kicked in almost immediately. WiFi was OK. As you’d expect, the room was amazing, with a separate large living room, kitchen facility (which we didn’t use), bathroom (seoerate rainfall shower and bath) and bedroom with one of the most comfortable beds I’ve vpever slept in. The staff were all very polite and helpful and went out of their way to make us feel welcome.

Across the entrance to Petra Historical Site

Posted Oct 16, 2017
Pros: Location, friendliness of staff
Location: Petra Historic Site
Perfectly located when returning from Petra Historical Site, or to stay over night an go there next morning. If you stay the night before you visit the Historic Site, they allow you to showed when you return from the Historic Site in the evening, which is exactly what you need before driving to some other place. That's really great. Has a nice roof-top. However for the view over the valley use the other Movenpick or Marriott (which I didn't like on a previous trip).

Beautiful hotel, right next to Petra

Posted Oct 2, 2017
From the moment we walked in, this hotel was wonderful. Great rooms, great service, great food and not unreasonably priced. It certainly helps that when you're dead tired from exploring Petra all day, you only have to cross the street to get home.

One of the closest hotels to Petra entrance

Posted Sep 5, 2017
Pros: Restaurant / bar staff were attentive and kind, we appreciated the level of service at the rooftop bar as well as the courtyard restaurant and pool
Cons: Reception / check in process, see above. Responsiveness to emails / correspondence prior to arrival
Location: Very close to Petra entrance. Also nearby several off-property restaurants
Probably the nicest hotel within the Wadi Musa / Petra area. Reception / check in process could be improved upon. Only had 1 person working reception which resulted in a queue, even though there were other staff members in the area not doing anything else. They also seemed to have trouble finding our booking. Management also never responded to emails sent prior to our arrival about booking activities in the area - our plans fell through and it was fine, but our request should have been acknowledged. Hotel felt very quiet and several of the restaurants were closed.

no.. not really 5 star

Posted Aug 27, 2017
Not sure how it got 5 star rating. The lobby is too small.. pool is not temperature controlled! It is the most convenient hotel in Petra. But thats pretty much. We saw a service guy eating food in the corridors.
