One of the closest hotels to Petra entrance

Pros: Restaurant / bar staff were attentive and kind, we appreciated the level of service at the rooftop bar as well as the courtyard restaurant and pool
Cons: Reception / check in process, see above. Responsiveness to emails / correspondence prior to arrival
Location: Very close to Petra entrance. Also nearby several off-property restaurants
Probably the nicest hotel within the Wadi Musa / Petra area. Reception / check in process could be improved upon. Only had 1 person working reception which resulted in a queue, even though there were other staff members in the area not doing anything else. They also seemed to have trouble finding our booking. Management also never responded to emails sent prior to our arrival about booking activities in the area - our plans fell through and it was fine, but our request should have been acknowledged. Hotel felt very quiet and several of the restaurants were closed.

no.. not really 5 star

Not sure how it got 5 star rating. The lobby is too small.. pool is not temperature controlled! It is the most convenient hotel in Petra. But thats pretty much. We saw a service guy eating food in the corridors.

Great hotel

The hotel is located right beside Petra which you can view from some rooms. The facilities dining room, bar, fitness and pool all well maintained and the rooms very comfortable

Pros: Location, food,friendly and attentive dining staff.
Cons: Hairdryer, more pillows for the bed, windows are not noise proof.
Comfortable. Location is excellent. Very good breakfast, staff in dining area are excellent. Roof top dining, expensive bur very good. Service in this ding area was also excellent. Rooms are not noise proof so bring ear plugs.

Close to entrance to Petra.

Definitely not a 5 star hotel. 4 star at best but probably one of best hotels in Petra. Beautiful courtyard dining. Service was good. Jordanian people are very friendly. There was a party on our second night and very loud music till midnight. Supposed to be free mini bar that is refilled daily but all our mini bar items disappeared second day. Had to call to replace them. Room was old and needed updating although website said recently renovated rooms.

Just okay

Hotel was quite rundown and shabby compared to the other very classy Movenpick we enjoyed in Dubai. Breakfast was awful, pool is down outside of the basement. Hotel has done an excellent job with their advertising photos ---quite disappointing in person.

Best place to stay in Petra

Pros: We were upgraded to a better room and on finding out that AC was not cooling effectively, within moments we were whisked away to next higher room.
Cons: I think this is value for money - but of course you get what you pay for. Meals are on expensive side.
Location: Petra Petra Petra - like Tora Tora Tora the movie!
Visiting whole of Jordan in under 5 days is a challenge and Petra being the central attraction deserves most efficient planning. THis is when Movenpick comes in. It's location - right outside the entrance to Petra is exceptional. Furthermore, the hotel itself, its staff and amenities makes this a top notch choice.

comfortable stay

service quite good. but encounter check in problem as they cant find my booking record. finally solve it within an hour and they also let me get a room first prior to clarify8ng the booking situation. buffet dinner not that good, dinner in the roof terrace should be much better

We booked a driver through the hotel number for pickup at the Amman airport, but no driver met us. We recommend just taking a taxi from the airport to the hotel rather than trying to book a driver through the hotel.
