Pleasant but loud!

Booked room at aka Rittenhouse off of Expedia. Relatively low price for a Sat night plus known hipness factor and location just off Rittenhouse Square got us to bite. We weren't sure how to drop off and park our car as the lot is around the block and we had a big cooler to carry. We pulled up and the staff, although I had to go in and request help, was very engaging and helpful. They stowed our bags on a cart until I could drive to the lot, park and walk to the hotel, which took about 30 minutes. We expected that because of the time of day and location, but those in a rush will get really frustrated with maneuvering around that part of town to get to their lot. When we got there the primary elevator was broken -- it happens. They had a utility elevator that worked - but was dirty and not a good way to make a first impression. They gave us some free drink ticket for a.kitchen , where we were brunching the next morning, so the Bloody Mary and Mimosa was on them!
The room was larger than we expected and had a full kitchen which was nice. The bedroom and bathroom was more than adequate and the TV worked fine. The only concern was noise. The air conditioner fan was very loud - although that was kind of good for providing "white noise" to drown out the chatter from the cafe's below, the sirens, the trash trucks, and general hubub of a major city. I don't know if a higher floor would help but if you are a finicky sleeper you may want to look elsewhere.
