Beautiful boutique hotel near historic Philly.Posted Oct 1, 2015
We were going to be touring Philly for a day and I found this hotel thru Expedia. Price was good, so I thought what the heck. Got there early and our room was ready, however the hotel had already assured me they would be happy to stow our luggage if our room had not been ready. The gentlemen that checked us in was very helpful in giving us info on local attractions. We left the next day before breakfast, but the fresh fruit available during the day was a nice touch. The room was clean, quiet and very spacious.

HOME AWAY FROM HOMEPosted Sep 30, 2015
Cons: New bed cover & new shower curtain (bottom of shower curtain had mildew spots which can be cleaned with bleach).
Location: Walking distance to eateries, convention center, and tourist attractions (30 minutes away, comfortable shoes necessary!)
We stayed for 7 days during Pope visit. It was our 3rd time at this Inn. Very quaint environment. Friendly/helpful staff. Rooms are clean. Continental breakfasts were very convenient. Safe neighborhood. Walking distance to great cafes & restaurants. Definitely will return.

Best for lone travelers. OK for couples.Posted Sep 28, 2015
Pros: The staff was AMAZING. Probably the best hotel/motel/inn staff I've ever experienced. Very helpful and not rude like a lot of Philadelphians are.
Cons: I arrived to the hotel late and a sign on the elevator wall said there were snacks. There were not snacks. :( HAVE SNACKS!!
Location: Everything is within a 15-20 min walk tourist wise. 10 mins from a bus stop. Overall the location was great, especially if you're a tourist.
Overall, I had a pretty good experience. Everything was small from the hallways, to the elevators to the rooms but it's manageable. The good thing is that it's near all the tourist attractions so it's not so bad.

City Center PhillyPosted Sep 27, 2015
Pros: location, staff, facilities.
Cons: keep it the way it is, it works.
Location: see the history stuff everyone comes here for and - how about the amazing and fascinating Philadelphia Penitentiary historical building (ok prison)
Great stay - 1st impressions are so important with hotels. We were really early arriving, about 10.am and were given a room straight away so able to shift the luggage in, park up in the discounted garage and get out and see the city. Hotel was in a good location, clean, safe, comfortable, good breakfast, helpful staff.

Greatest city center hotel ever!Posted Sep 19, 2015
Location: Walking distance to the birth of America!
Often, city center hotel staffs are impersonal and uncaring. The Alexander Inn is the total opposite; every single staff member is committed to making your stay pleasant and your Philadelphia experience as rewarding as possible. The rooms are very nice, clean, efficient, and most fairly priced. The complimentary continental breakfast ranks well above the norm--with staff hovering to make certain that all the offerings remain well-stocked. We know exactly where we'll stay should we ever get back to Philly!

Unique little hotel in center-city PhillyPosted Sep 19, 2015
Pros: Quaint charm, very courteous and helpful staff.
Cons: More padding on mattresses and maybe a little more breakfast selection.
Location: This is center-city, Philadelphia, so there is much sightseeing and historic attractions that can be done on foot.
The hotel was really charming, quaint and very clean. Our room was small but also quite attractive and charming. The bed was very firm but hard, in that it had very little cushioning. So it was a bit like sleeping on a board. Also, the included breakfast was a little on the chintzy side but, hey, it was free, right? All in all, we really liked this place and if they would just add some pillow-tops to the mattresses, we'd definitely stay there again.

Charming boutique hotel in downtown PhillyPosted Sep 14, 2015
Beautiful old building within walking distance (about a mile) of sights like Liberty Bell, U.S. Mint, Barnes Collection. Surrounded by shops and restaurants. Helpful and friendly staff. Breakfast was quite good and apples and bananas were available all day. AC in room had constant hum so didn't wake me with cycling on and off.

Nice hotel in a great locationPosted Sep 11, 2015
I stayed for 1 night and found the hotel to be really nice and in a good location. The room was pretty small but it had everything I needed and was well designed. The hotel is in a great location with plenty to do nearby; the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall are easily within walking distance and there were plenty of nice places to eat nearby.
