Excellent location but needs some sprucing

Posted Feb 25, 2017
The hotel is very well located. But the property is not maintained as it should be. The room we were first assigned had a leak in the bathroom which was obviously there for the previous guest. They tried to fix it and could not, so eventually they changed our room. The shower curtain was ripped. Yes, really ripped. In the room that we were moved to the next day, the lights did not work. The restaurant had an excellent service. They did give us a complimentary breakfast for our troubles with the room. When I was checking out, there was a guest that had some issues and the clerk was losing her patience with them. I think she should have tried to solve the issue another way, not for everyone else to hear. Overall I loved the hotel the staff and everything except the maintenance should be better

nice staff - bathrooms a little dated

Posted Feb 17, 2017
Staff are wonderful! Cocktails are great. Location is perfect for getting about. The room was large and comfy the only thing that needs improving is the decor of the bathrooms, the wall paper was peeling and the showers weren't too strong. Not that this would stop me from coming back

Doubletree in Philadelphia

Posted Feb 15, 2017
Pros: Reasonably good location.
Cons: Updating of common areas. Parking was provided, but at a premium (additional cost), but parking in Philadelphia is difficult at best.
Location: It was necessary to drive to see Liberty Bell and other points of interest.
The Doubletree was definitely a moderate hotel and not as nice as we had hoped. Common areas need to be updated. Hotel staff at check-in were less than friendly because we had "booked through a 3rd party" and she would not give our friends the password for Wifi access because of this (we had booked Expedia also, but was given the password) and would not recognize that we both were Hilton Honors Members. Since we were traveling with friends we asked for king rooms next to each other or at least on the same floor. They were unable to accommodate us on this request (my guess was they did not want to accommodate our request).

Thank you for your feedback. The Hilton Honors program states that reservations booked through non-Hilton portals are not allowed to earn points or utilize Hilton HHonors benefits. We thank you for staying with us, and for visiting Philadelphia.

Overall a good experience and we were glad to be able to walk the city center.... Very close to Reading Market!

Cons: Curtains should close all the way to keep out morning light. Bathroom needs an exhaust fan. Blankets would be better than a duvet.
Helpful staff outdoors and in. Quick check in. Good chocolate chip cookies on check-in. Nice room, good view.

People were rude once they heard my NY accent. The elevators had trash on the floor.
