Good Location but Hardware and Software failed.

The good thing about the hotel is its location right in the heart of center city. If you want to read more good things..., you may stop reading here. The hotel has been seen its good days: the hardware is old and pretty used. Carpet in the room was dirty and the door of the room offered a slot at the bottom, so that you do not need to open the door to share your privacy with the guests at the elevator lobby right outside. The room was located across the club floor lounge and right at the elevator lobby of the upper section of this Double Tree. The front desk mentioned it has been an room upgrade but it did not feel like one. Seems booking through Expedia, as you can see, feels like punishing customers who book via an OTA online travel agent. Unfortunately front desk and room service were short on friendliness and something which feels like a warm welcome. The housekeeping was poor: towels in 50 shades of white, poorly folded, stained, the hair dryer very used, sticky and seemed not hygienic. Amenities like coffee paper cups, complementary coffee pouder or plastic laundry bags and so on have not been refilled on regular base, trash like small used water bottles not removed and found on the floor. Half thru the stay, an extra tipping brought more attention to these details but this should not be common practice. If staying in PHL with Hilton, the location is good but be prepared for some not expected short-comings in a house of this brand and category.
