Unreliable. "Don't book through Expedia" mgr said

We choose to book at a higher rate to be able to cancel because we needed a crb. i included a comment in the reservation, "Crib a must, otherwise let me know so i can cancel". A day before traveling i call the hotel and they assured me i will have a crib so i kept reservation and did not cancel.
When arrived, the manager said they were sending one asap to the room. By 8 pm still no crib and they ended up saying they had none. That they only carry 7 in house and share with the Hilton (So about 1000 rooms = 7 cribs)
3 people slept in 1 bed. None of us slept. None of us except my child, really rested. Terrible night. Having known, i would have canceled and choose another property. I paid too much. I asked for compensation and the manager said "Dont book through Expedia, they dont share the obs or comments with us" trying to blame someone else for them not providing it. And when i questioned about the assurance of her associate the day before when i could cancel she said she will "talk to him"...
