Perfect hotel for history lovers

Posted Apr 22, 2017
Cons: after hours menu
Everything is in walking distance. From any kind of food you want to seeing everything about our nations birth. Their after hours room service menu was small and the grill cheese was not good, other then that it was wonderful.

Julio, Thank you for staying with us here at the Monaco. I, personally, love how close we are to so much history. Even just sitting down in the park you can see Benjamin Franklin and William Penn walk through. We hope you will join us again soon. Best wishes, James

Great place

Beautiful decor, great views, very friendly staff. Could use more pillows in the room. Lounge furniture was very stylish but a bit worn. Definitely would go back.

No parkview room as shown on the order

Posted Apr 12, 2017
Cons: Keep the exact room type for customers on their orders. If you do not guarantee room type, do not show it in orders!
We ordered a parkview room at Kimpton Hotel Monaco Philadelphia from Expedia. However, the hotel told me that they never guarantee room type, and they do not have other Parkview room available. So I end up staying in a lower-grade room than shown on my order.

I'm sorry we were not able to accommodate your room type at check-in. I hope we have the opportunity to make it up to you one day in the future.

AceyDenver, Thank you for joining us here at the Monaco. It is always a joy to see the love for the Monaco and Kimpton shared. We hope you welcome back soon and relax with us the summer, maybe even take a bike for spin to see the Art Museum and maybe wander over to Penn's Landing to see the water. Best Wishes, James

Great hotel, close to historical sights

Posted Mar 26, 2017
Pros: Location, staff, cleanliness and decor
Cons: Mattresses a tad uncomrotable
Location: All historical sites within a very short walk.
My family of four was visiting Philadelphia to visit colleges in the area. We have two teenagers and we all shared a large Park view room with 2 queen beds. The Hotel could not be situated any better to to see historical Philadelphia and it is a nice walk to Rittenberg square and other downtown sights. The rooms were clean, the staff was extremely friendly and the hotel has a cool vibe with lots going on. Minor complaint regarding the mattresses being a little uncomfortable, but otherwise a great experience. We used the restaurant for breakfast only and it was wonderful. Loved the complimentary wine each evening.

Brian, Thank you for choosing the Hotel Monaco. I am sorry to hear that your bed was unpleasant. We are currently working on getting more comfortable beds into the rooms. I hope that you will return soon and that your bed will be so great you will want one in your own home. However, I am happy to see that you enjoyed your stay with your family. Nothing is better than quality time with your loved ones. Well, a comfortable bed and quality time but we already covered that. Just thinking about Red Owl is making me hungry. Their food is so delicious. We hope to catch you again at wine hour soon. Cheers, James

Boutique shouldn't mean closet size ROOM!

Posted Mar 7, 2017
Pros: Some of the decor was fun and the materials were nice to be surrounded with. However often the decor went over the edge of good design.
Location: The Red Owl Bar was very nice on Sunday...otherwise so crowded you can't get to the bar.
The room we were given would have been ridiculous for one person let alone two! The staff said all the rooms in the hotel were that size because it was a boutique hotel!! I paid more to stay there because I wanted something special. Instead it was a very uncomfortable two night stay!

Karen i'm very sorry to hear that you were not pleased with the size of your room. We do have a range of room types available at the hotel that include standard rooms to suites. If you are ever nearby I would love the opportunity to show you a room or two that may be perfect for you.
