The hotel was conveniently located for sight seeing around downtown, the staff was very helpful, and the room was comfortable and clean.

Thank you for staying with us. Rittenhouse Square is pretty much a twenty minute walk to all the key spots in Philly (Rocky Steps, Italian Market, Liberty Bell, Barnes Foundation, et al). Hope to see you again soon.

Fun hotel in great location

Posted Aug 29, 2016
This is a fun hotel in a quaint historic building, located in Rittenhouse Square, our favorite Philadelphia neighborhood. We loved using the bikes to tool around town and appreciate little touches like free water and trail mix. One thing we didn't love was the dogs everywhere- the lobby and elevators are small, and it was overwhelming to have large dogs in both. Also could hear dogs barking from rooms, which didn't bother us during the night, but we heard other guests grumbling.

Thank you for choosing the Palomar! I love hearing you took the bikes out for a spin. Philadelphia is a great city for biking around. You'll get a great tour without having to pedal too hard. We are pet friendly, as are all Kimptons, but we do have pet-free floors that we can place guests on at their request.

Reasonable hotel rate but high parking fee

Posted Aug 28, 2016
At $200 per night, it should have been ok but with $50/day parking fee, it became ridiculous. They should have been up front with the additional parking fee. In addition, there are dogs all over the place. They should have separated by floors/level, those with dogs and those without. On the second day, they don't provide toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body gel, soap & lotion). You have to call & ask for it. This should have been automatic as you consumed it with two people using it.

Thank you for choosing the Palomar. Sorry to hear your stay was so disappointing. Our parking rates should be posted on our website as well as any third-parties with who you may reserve rooms through. I will review those sites to make sure the information is available. What's not listed is that there are lower priced self-park options within a block of the hotel but you will not have unlimited in and out privileges and 24-hour access. Kimpton is among the most pet-friendly hotel companies out there, so we're always popular with the dog set. Half of our floors are pet free though, so by all means mention your preference next time through. And you should not have to request additional amenities. I will follow up with my housekeeping team. Thank you for the feedback.

Great staff, nice location, lots to do

Posted Aug 25, 2016
Pros: Great staff, free wine in the lobby from 5-6 pm, loaner bike for your use, free WiFi if you join their rewards program.
Cons: Nada
Location: A few blocks from Rittenhouse Square (a Pokemon Go hotspot), near to mom&pop dining options, clubs, bars, + two 24hr diners within stumbling distance.
Above average hotel stay. Had an issue with my door lock and engineering was up to fix it in no time. Housekeeping did a great job. Nice view from 12th floor NW corner room.

Thanks for staying with us! Being adjacent to a Pokémon gym is news to us but here's hoping you caught a couple of Bulbasaurs and Charzards!

Nice hotel . Got it through Expedia so price was right. Enjoyed visit. Restaurant on site not great. Eat elsewhere. Staff friendly and helpful.

Thank you for choosing the Palomar. As much as you enjoyed the hotel, we're sorry you didn't love Square as much. They typically do a great job. If you return and don't feel like taking a 2nd chance, the good news is that Rittenhouse Square is a hot bed of great dining options.

Hotel staff pays no attention to barking dogs.

Posted Aug 14, 2016
Pros: The air conditioning.
Cons: Management
Location: Location is good. Taxis nearby. Central. Expect to be taken to the cleaners by restaurants in that area, best to eat a little further out.
Hotel staff paid no attention to the loudly barking dogs, intolerable, in the communal reception room. The "wine reception" held daily appeared to come as a surprise every day. Major objection, nowhere to sit in room except on the bed. Noise transmission room to room was unacceptable. Being a fan of Kimpton, and a member of their loyalty club, I was very, very disappointed. One had to search for the ice machine, and the phones did not function - for example, wake up call was permanently busy, and calling the desk generated a call 1 hour earlier than requested. The Sofitel directly across the street is a better bet. Stayed in both.

Thank you for choosing us. While a/c is important with the summer we've been having, it's obviously disappointing that is was the only real "pro" for your trip. As one of the few pet friendly hotels, we are a popular destination for our four-legged friends on weekends and holidays, but we do have pet free floors if you wish to escape them. There's no surprise to us about the nightly wine reception, it's actually amazingly popular (again, especially on the weekends). Sorry about the hide and seek with our ice machine. Given the limited space due to the historic structure, we could only fit one on the 4th floor in the fitness center. But we'll happily deliver some if you give room service a call. But...that would require your phone to be working properly, and I sympathize with your loss in confidence with it given the struggles with the wake up call.

Perfect

Posted Aug 10, 2016
A stylish vibrant hotel that couldn't be better in any way. The location, room, bed, bathroom, lobby, staff were wonderful. In fact, the staff was better than perfect: the warm and welcoming front desk gave us an amazing restaurant recommendation and, as we were checking out, a housekeeper raced down to bring us the charger I had absentmindedly left behind.
