from the moment I walked in to this Wonderland of a hotel I was smitten, the staff could not have been more accommodating, a staff member even called me to ask if I found my room amenable. Ok, so it's obvious I don't often stay in 5 star hotels, but this one I could actually afford AND it's not your run of the mill interior, I'm a designer so I appreciated the attention to detail. The old postcards ( circa turn of the century and WWll) and correspondence displayed in the main hallway was the icing on the cake. Loved the place and it's a tough act to follow.

In the Heart of the Historic District

Cons: nothing
Location: way to much
We took the AMTRAK train to Philly and transferred to the MFW line which brought us within a block of the hotel. We were able to walk to all the historical attractions. Walking in town is really nice with wide sidewalks that were safe even in the evening. Good food within a few steps of the hotel (close at 6:00pm!). The hotel was updated and seemed brand new. Really liked the elevator safety switch. Awesome.

Historic location

This location is absolutely beautiful. There are so many attractions and local restaurants within walking distances, so bring your most comfortable pair of shoes!

Ótima localização

Location: Ao lado do Independence Hall e do Liberty Bell
Trocamos de quarto logo na chegada por falta de luz natural no primeiro em que nos colocaram. Acabamos em um quarto sem manutenção (o que foi meio decepcionante, porque a decoração é um atrativo nesse hotel), mas grande, cama e travesseiros bons. Na verdade, nos incomodamos com as condições do quarto e com o box do banheiro, mas o fato de ter sido reservado via Expedia complicou uma melhor solução por parte dos funcionários, que foram ótimos e até acabaram compensando um pouco o incômodo. Uma garrafa de água no quarto custa absurdos 8 (oito) dólares. Além do staff, a localização também é ótima, ao lado do Independence Hall e num bairro bonito e histórico. Como a maioria dos hotéis americanos, não tem café da manhã, mas há um restaurante interligado ao lobby do hotel e é muito bom. O hotel oferece drinks gratuitamente no final da tarde num ambiente agradável e convidativo. Com ressalvas, recomendaria.

Everything was great, except wifi wasn't free. Not a big deal, but kind of Nickle and dimey... And if you get a room on the interior their is very little natural light which is disorienting in the evening and morning... Unless you're from Alaska.

Pros: Through the looking glass decor and friendly staff.
We he a great get away weekend at the Monaco. Right in the historic district and walking distance to shopping, restaurants and theatre. Staff and service was exceptional. We enjoyed the quirky decor and social hour in the lobby.

Great Weekend

Genuinely just an amazing experience. I'm a sucker for atmosphere and this hotel nailed it. Easy access to everything, 10 minute walking distance in each direction, to just about anywhere in the city.
