Beautiful Hotel, Nice Design

Posted Jan 5, 2016
Pros: Friendly, elegant and informal at the same time.
Cons: shower cup in the bathroom
Location: Very close to Independence Hall
Family trip with our two boys. The ideal place if you want to see old Philadelphia. Room very comfortable and with beautiful and original decorations. Spacious bathroom. Building impressive and the hall of the Hotel is beautifully decorated. Friendly boutique Hotel with an original twist.

Amazing experience

Posted Jan 4, 2016
My spouse and 2 little kids ages 2 months and 14 months enjoyed our 3 day stay. It was fun, great staff that are polite, professional and great spirited. Lovely design or room and extra perks like coffee in am and wine/spirits in pm. I loved it and will make it an quarterly statecation.

Steps to independence hall, liberty bell and metro

Posted Jan 3, 2016
Unique hotel in the heart of old Philadelphia. Steps from independence hall, Liberty bell, Jewish museum and market place. Less than 1 mile walk to city hall and Philadelphia art museum. If driving, there is not a designated place to unload except in the middle of the street but valet was quick and helpful. The view from Rooftop bar on the 10th floor is awesome.

DC Traveler, Thanks for the great review! We are definitely around some exciting attractions, which is a pro for sightseeing and a con for drivers! Happy to see our staff was able to make the best of your arrival and departure and make sure to come back in the warmer months when the rooftop bar is going even stronger! Warm Regards, James

Nice hotel near the liberty Bell

Poor service, no seating in room. Garish décor and the staff was terrible.

Jeff, I am sorry to see you had such a poor stay with us. While I understand our décor may not be everyone's taste, failing to provide you with exceptional service is unacceptable. We all take pride in this place and our ultimate goal is for our guests to feel like family. While it appears we failed to achieve this during your stay, I do hope you'll give us another shot at redemption in the future. In Service, James

Nice hotel. Nice stay. Wine hour was nice. Staff were pleasant. One downside was the extra long wait for the car at checkout. We texted valet 27 minutes before we were to leave and still had to wait an additional 30 minute for the car to come. So almost an hour. Otherwise. Stay was very nice.

Great boutique-style hotel in the heart of Philly

Posted Dec 28, 2015
Location: The hotel is in the heart of everything - right next to Independence Hall and within easy walking distance to Chinatown, Reading Terminal Market, etc.
The Hotel Monaco is a Kimpton Hotel property, and as such, offers all the charm and ambiance of a Kimpton boutique-style hotel. Our room was not particularly spacious (this is center city Philadelphia, after all), but it was beautifully decorated and spotless. The hotel offers complimentary coffee and tea service in the mornings and complimentary wine and beer at an evening reception every night from 5:00-6:00; both events are held in the charming lobby area. Hotel staff are friendly and accommodating. On our first night there the manager went out of his way to get to know us and make recommendations for sightseeing and local dining. One great feature for is that the hotel allows guests to have up to two pets in their rooms -- no weight limit, and no charge whatsoever. They even provided dog beds and bowls for our two large Boxer dogs. Housekeeping went out of their way to work with our schedules in order to clean our room when we and the dogs were away. The hotel also is the home of the Red Owl Tavern, which is a highly-rated restaurant/bar that also features an upscale deli where you can purchase food to go. We ate there our first night and were impressed by the quality of the food. A bit pricey, but excellent. My only criticisms are 1) there were no holiday decorations in the hotel, which we would have appreciated since we were staying there Christmas week. Perhaps the hotel was being PC, but if so I don't agree with that; and 2) Valet parking is almost $50/night.
