Very pleasant hotel and staff

Posted Dec 2, 2015
The hotel is pleasant and for-humans, and it has not been motelized like the hotels around Rittenhouse and City Center where I formerly stayed. The staff were pleasant, very helpful, and considerate. Definitely not institutional, and located in a particularly interesting part of town. It was great.

Nice hotel, close to food and drinks!

Posted Nov 25, 2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Bedding
Location: Food and drink
My wife and I had a great stay. Staff was friendly, room was clean and comfortable. The older building has a great vibe and feel but old pipes make for an early rattling wake up call. Beds were a little on the firm side but the location is great! Need a cold beer, Philly steak or a pharmacy...... step outside!

Nice hotel in Old City

Posted Nov 9, 2015
Pros: Close to a lot of historical areas as well as restaurants and taverns, hotel itself was clean and comfortable. Will be returning.
Cons: Nothing to note
Location: Close to Independence Hall, Liberty Bell, Franklin's grave, a lot nearby restaurants and taverns.
Great hotel, room very comfortable and modern even though it's in a very old building. Bed was very nice. Room clean. Did not have opportunity to have breakfast but that is included. Close to a lot of things in walking distance.

Old town Philadelphia

Posted Nov 8, 2015
Pros: See above
Location: Old town Philadelphia! Cross town to world class museums.
This a wonderful hotel that has been updated for today's amenities. The front desk staff were extremely friendly and helpful. It is a family run hotel and it is evident. The murals on numerous walls and artwork add to the experience, very similar to a nice hotel in Europe. It is in walking distance to all of the old town Philadelphia sites, so you get a chance to experience the flavor of the 18th century. You'll be happy. The breakfast and the serving staff were also very nice, (smiling & helpful) The owners can feel good that they've hired nice people.

Don't stay here if you like sleep

Posted Nov 5, 2015
The room itself was clean and cozy, and the bathroom/jet tub were fantastic. However, the room was noisy -- right next to the elevators, (even though an Expedia rep assured us via text that our room was not, in fact, right next to the elevators), and on the front end facing the busy freeway -- and the bed was atrocious. Every time one of us barely moved, the obviously old & broken springs popped and groaned loudly; you could feel it every time, too. A nice mattress -- even an acceptable one -- would have greatly improved things.
