A nice break from the "same old" hotel experience

Posted Aug 26, 2015
Pros: I really liked the hardwood floors in my room!
Cons: It would be nice to have another elevator as it did take some time to get to my floor. I didn't mind taking the stairs though.
Location: Lots of nice and healthy food options in the area. The Green Egg Cafe was amazing for breakfast and lunch!
If you need a break from the crowded lobbies and hustle and bustle of a large hotel chain, this is right up your alley. The look and feel of a smaller hotel has a lot of benefits. I felt like I was in a home and not a hotel which made my stay very relaxing.

A great stay not far away!

Posted Aug 18, 2015
Pros: The staff was genuinely concerned with my dust allergies and was extra careful in cleaning and offering to remove the area rug in my room.
Cons: A few more breakfast choices.
Location: Great location right in the middle of the Philadelphia action. Penns Landing, parks, museums, galleries, within walking distance. No car needed.
The Independence Hotel is just that…you can be independent and on your own with breakfast delivered to your door and left for you to eat at your leisure. The hotel is beautifully and comfortably decorated with modern amenities yet a warm feel. The staff is excellent and very helpful and friendly but in a professional way. If you need help, the staff is there to assist you but never intruding. I highly recommend this hotel. It is centrally located yet you feel tucked away when inside. Go and go there fast!

Needed a night for a concert

Posted Aug 18, 2015
Walked into the lobby to wine being served. Dropped off my stuff. Even split a ride with another copy. Room was immaculate, spacey and chic. Breakfast was also included. Would absolutely stay again.

Cozy hotel with fabulous staff

Posted Aug 13, 2015
It's a small boutique hotel located in the downtown area of Philadelphia. It is sophisticated and nicely crafted. The room is clean and well-ordered with old styles. Most importantly, the staff are nice and helpful. Their smile can make you greatly relaxed after an exhausting trip!!!

Nice boutique hotel in center city Philly.

Posted Aug 5, 2015
This small (24-room) boutique hotel is a hidden gem located virtually in the heart of Philadelphia. The hotel staff was extremely accommodating. When I told the lady at reception that I was unable to turn off a noisy fan in the bathroom, she offered me a complementary upgrade to a bigger, nicer room just down the hall, on the same floor. Parking at a lot about 1.5 blicks away cost $20 for 24 hours, a reasonable fee for center city. I will stay there again if/when in Philly & would unreservedly recommend it to others.

Great location, Clean hotel

Posted Aug 3, 2015
Location: Perfect location- Reading terminal, Liberty bell, Independence Hall, Rittenhouse Square, restaurants, shopping all within a short walk
Pros: I picked this hotel due to its central location in the city- Easy to get to most tourist sites by foot, which was great. The area surrounding the hotel felt clean and safe. The room was clean, comfortable, and air conditioning worked great! Nice to have both a fridge and microwave in the room. Front desk staff was pleasant and accommodating. Simple breakfast options delivered to room at the time the guest chooses, nice that this was included in price. Cons: Breakfast is delivered to the room on a cafeteria style tray, and there is minimal space in the room to eat, as the only chair in the room is located at the desk. My boyfriend and I found ourselves eating in shifts at the desk, as we aren't the type to eat food in bed. It would be nice to have an additional chair in the room, or a breakfast table. Also, coffee can be found in the room at the keurig machine, but tea is not. Tea is also not an option on the breakfast menu. In order to have tea in the morning, you have to go to the lobby, which I feel defeats the purpose of breakfast delivery. It would be nice to have a tea bag option on the breakfast menu :). Also, the shower is a standing shower, and on the small side. A simple turn in the shower would knock items off the shelf, and being a girl, it makes it difficult to shave your legs. Finally, two nights at the hotel with parking cost ~$500, which I find to be on the expensive side. Overall I would stay again due to the location and cleanliness.
