This property has almost a private access to Little Bay. The view from the new building C 3(Feb 2022) was gorgeous. Likewise from the top of Fort Amsterdam historic site, which is on the property. We felt the property has almost everything we needed and the staff helpful and friendly in the SXM style. The Divi mini Mart and Fort Amsterdam Cafe were great, since we didn't do all inclusive. On that note, the only bad point we had was food / beverage.
As nice as the staff was, there were not enough of them. It was hard to get served and more than once we had to physically get up and get help after 10 to 15 minutes wait without greeting, water, or menu. Many people just walked up to the grill to get attention. It's very uncomfortable as it's not the waiters fault they are understaffed and you don't want to be a bother. The drinks flowed, but very weak. The happy hours were the classic shot split in half. As a result, under these conditions, we could not recommend all inclusive. The walk to Philipsburg is longer than 15 minute walk as published in some areas online. It's a thin sidewalk, if at all,on the main busy and fast road. Doable but not pleasant. Philipsburg essentially shuts down after 6 so the nice boardwalk is eerily quiet and not as pleasant to stroll after dinner. Taxis were charging $5 USD per person min and more depending on how far you want to go. The expense adds up.
The cuisine in SXM is to be experienced so we would rent a car next time.
