Hotel in need of renovation.

We booked this hotel for 4 nights, but checked out after the first night. The lobby area is okay, but the rest of the hotel smells terrible. We were on the third floor and the minute we got off the elevator we were hit with this awful smell. My husband thought that it was probably a heavy deodorizing spray. Our room was superficially clean, but upon closer inspection we could see that it hadn't been deep cleaned for years. Dust buildup around the edges of the carpet and in corners of bathroom. There was an empty bandaid wrapper under the sink in the bathroom and the cold air return cover in the room was duck taped to the wall. The manager offered us a different room, but it was pretty much the same. Hotel staff were very nice.
