Great overall value - just not perfect

Posted Mar 24, 2017
Pros: Location, Staff
Cons: Cable TV choices, Air Conditioner sound, Interior design of the room
Location: Location was perfect, the 101 highway is close, but you do not hear anything from the road. I think this is the best trait for this hotel.
The hotel is in a great location for my use. I found the breakfast and amenities above average and the staff was courteous. The rooms are a bit dated, Air Conditioning was loud, and cable tv was pretty lame. In the end, I would stay here again. It's not perfect, but does provide a good value to the consumer.

Aging hotel

Posted Mar 18, 2017
Cons: Fans in the bathrooms and remove the dual locks on the pool gates (a card reader should be sufficient). Observe guests there and their challenges.
The hotel is close to Hwy 101 and there is a grocery store across a busy street. The facility is getting old. The rooms are fine but the TV's are horrible.

Not what I expected

Posted Mar 18, 2017
Was expecting something a little more adequate. Checked in late, clerk at front desk not very welcoming or helpful. Then room smelled damp and not pleasant. The curtain in the shower was torn on the rings above, and very noisy. Every time someone used the bathroom in a room above or below me I could hear the pipes and water. Overall, kept me up most of night.

cancelled trip

Posted Mar 14, 2017
Pros: Didn't get out there to find out
My girlfriend & I cancelled our trip to Arizona due to illness with both of us. Sorry! We may go out in the fall. Also our friend we visit moved to an assisted living home not near where we intended to go.

Not as good as the ratings here.

Posted Mar 14, 2017
My wife and I stayed here the weekend of March 10-13. Although neither of us required it, we were assigned what is supposed to be a wheelchair-accessible room-- roll-in shower, shower bench, grab bars on the toilet and shower. My wife's impression of the room was that it was "ugly," although I wouldn't go that far. It was clean and adequate, with minimal amenities. One of the dresser drawers was missing a handle. The bathroom sink had little or no room for toiletries. Although it is designated an "accessible" room, the desk was misplaced near the foot of the bed, making it difficult, if not impossible, for a wheelchair-user to pass by. The two electrical chords were exposed and stretched to the outlets near the windows in the corner, where the desk and chair were obviously meant to be. There is a small sink in the bathroom, leaving little or no room for toiletries-- I had to place mine on the toilet tank. There is an adequate breakfast,a small pool and hot tub. Don't beleave the hype that the property is "near" Old Town Scottsdale-- it's a fifteen or twenty minute drive away. You will need a car-- although Uber is readily available-- unless you spend your time by the pool.

Nothing special. Small rooms.

Posted Mar 9, 2017
The 1st room I was assigned had a funny odor, and hair in the bathtub. When I reported this to the staff, I was told to come to front desk for a new room key. The gentleman at front desk had his hand extended, with a keycard in it. No eye contact, no "sorry for the inconvenience". He was too busy having a conversation with another employee.

Reviewers are accurate

Posted Mar 5, 2017
Pros: Wonderful staff. Location.
Cons: Needs updating. Better TV cable service.
Location: Shopping. Hospital. Easy freeway access.
Yes, this hotel needs and update, and yes the TV's are kinda lousy. However, the staff were wonderful, and it is in a great location. The free breakfast got me thru most of the day. The exact same hotel was also located about 15 miles away (Mesa, AZ), and was $50 a night less, but got worse reviewing scores. Hmmmm.....what is a guy to do?
