Nope !
This hotel needs to be torn down and rebuilt. They basically took an old motel 6 and built a fake front entrance that makes it look nice ... and they built a resort style pool. The restaurant and bar a pretty nice and it does feel safe even know outside the walls it’s scary... sirens all night... loud freeway all night. My room faced the back of the restaurant and the deliveries and trash trucks start arriving at 4am with lots of noise. It makes it tough when you can’t sleep because the walls and ceiling are so thin that you here every sound from above and below! I stayed here a few years back and my room was tucked away in the hall I remembered it not being that great but I only stayed one night. Having to travel for work and come to Phoenix during Spring Training is hard because all other hotels Are over $300 per night and this was only $150. I had to be in town for three nights and it was awful. My last meeting ended at 4pm and I honestly considering making the 5 hour drive back home, due to not sleeping the nights before I stuck it out and got out of there first thing at 5am. Anyways never again!!! This is only an option if you want a safe low budget hotel and you don’t care if you can’t sleep. There was a group of students there for a tournament that came in and that makes sense for them to stay there.

What I loved most about GCU Hotel is that many students who are in the Hotel and Hospitality program are actually working at the hotel! Talk about hands-on! #lopesup Here’s what I loved: 1. The look of the lobby and Canyon ‘49 restaurant are pleasing and clean. The GCU theme could be found throughout the hotel! 2. The staff was amazing. Happy and ready to please customers! 3. The pool (it must be heated because it wasn’t warm outside but people were swimming) was gorgeous! So pleasing to the eye with all sorts of activities. 4. Beds comfy and towels too. 5. Food was delicious at Canyon ‘49 Didn’t love: 1. This building must have been renovated so it indeed went through a tremendous facelift. That’s fine but the tile in the bathroom was dated and some tiles were floating. 2. The lighting in the room wasn’t bright at all. You had to turn on all the light to decently get ready. Overall, it was an excellent stay. I look forward to staying again when I visit my daughter!!

This property was so much nicer than so expected. Other reviews had mentioned a security guard, but I did not expect this hotel to be on the campus with only one entrance that had a security check at the front (which was very nice because this isn’t located in the nicest area). The lobby and main part of the hotel are gorgeous, look brand new, and modern. The rooms are pretty run of the mill, but I was happy overall. Would stay here again if traveling to Phoenix ever.

It was a motel not hotel surrounded by fencing in an unsafe part of town. The photos were deceiving. One morning, a man knocked on my door and said he was there for his appointment. There was a half used water bottle in my room . As a woman who travels alone for work, it would be nice if Orbitz provided some type of safety rating for an area. I was later told by locals that I was in one of the worst areas of Phoenix.
