Cacti One of the best brunches of my life in Scottsdale, AZ. #foodiefinds Cactus Super short (5-10minutes) walk/hike. Your destination is literally a Golfing at the Phoenician 11/2016 #lifeatexpedia In the late 1800s, Phoenicians enjoyed the wonders of Arizona Falls, gathering there to picnic, socialize and dance near the cool water. Utilizing the flowing water of the canal to produce power, Arizona Falls was also the site of the first hydroelectric plant in Phoenix. Originally built in 1902, the plant was rebuilt by SRP in 1911, began delivering power again in 1913 and was eventually shut down in 1950.
Arizona Falls, formed by a natural 20-foot drop along the Arizona Canal between what is now 56th and 58th streets, reopened in June 2003 as a restored hydroelectric plant and neighborhood gathering place where visitors can learn, interact and reflect.
The new Arizona Falls combines art, history and technology to generate clean electricity from the canal's waterfall.

Surrounded by desert nature, Gertrude's #sweetspot is a perfect setting to splurge and get something sweet, and Donuts+Sauces dessert is absolutely a must try. It is made of ricotta donut holes dusted with cinnamon and raw sugar, and served with three decadent sauces: smoked hot fudge, prickly pear jelly, and salted caramel all made in-house. The sauces have just the right amount of sweetness to go with the sugary donut holes. This is inside an art piece called Savannah exhibit at Phoenix Zoo. This cactus is called, somewhat appropriately, Born in 1941 in Tacoma, Washington, Dale Chihuly was introduced to glass while studying interior design at the University of Washington. After graduating in 1965, Chihuly enrolled in the first glass program in the country, at the University of Wisconsin. He continued his studies at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), where he later established the glass program and taught for more than a decade. On a Fulbright he went to work in Venice where he observed a team approach to glass blowing which he employs today. #roadtrip Very cool place! #animals For those of you who love botanical gardens, definitely check out on your next visit to a Phoenix.
