Regular Holiday Inn visitPosted Nov 19, 2015
Pros: Clean and comfortable.
Location: Middle of a shopping area and right off main highway.
While I never expect over top amenities or conditions at Holiday Inn it is always pleasant and clean. This trip the food I ordered through room service (jalapeno poppers and a Reuben sandwich) were barely edible. Soup at the bar was much better next day but I was hesitant to order anything more. They make the effort to put up signs to hang towels to conserve water but they took them anyway. Housekeeping also left some dishes for 2 days from the aforementioned room service. Very little interaction with staff but they were all pleasant but not overtly enthusiastic. The front rooms also are directly across from a Home Depot so noise started before 6 am.

Love it herePosted Nov 8, 2015
Pros: The Staff
Cons: A little upgrading of the rooms is in order.
We always stay here when we go to Phoenix, generally two or three times a year. We always get a suite for the space. We asked for a suite on the ground floor, which they gave us. Room 150, but the wallpaper and the bathroom sink were in disrepair and the living room TV was all scratched up. They put the living room TV in the bedroom and bedroom TV in living room. Hope they remember to fix that problem. The refrigerator was extremely loud, ran all night. Staff if excellent and we will continue to stay at this hotel. Pool and spa are wonderful.

Motion-sensored Lights in a Hotel Room..REALLY?Posted Sep 27, 2015
Pros: Room Service, Pool
Cons: Take out the motion-sensored lights!!! More staff supervision needed (Check-in staff, housekeeping and restaurant).
Location: Golfland, Sunsplash, Museum of Natural History, Fiesta Mall
Two motion-sensored lights in the room that went off every time someone got up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. No way to turn them off. Who's idea was that?? We got a one bedroom so our kids could get a good night's sleep--NOPE! Maids kept taking the extra blankets we had for the pull-out bed (which was a broken down joke by the way). Maids took my half-full shampoo and shave gel out of the shower on the first day and didn't even bother to leave some of the complimentary bottles. We had to ask for extra towels daily (4 people in a room, only left 3 towels every.single.day). Room service was awesome. Delicious food and quick service. One night we ordered take-out from the restaurant. We were given a completely different item from what we ordered as a "replacement" because they didn't have one of the items we ordered. They never even mentioned it when we ordered, just chose a substitute and tried to pass it off when we picked up the take out. Room faces 8 lanes of traffic on Hwy 60, so there is a LOT of traffic noise. Pool was clean and refreshing. Check-in clerk had a serious attitude that I just really didn't feel like dealing with after traveling all day. The hotel was probably 75% empty mid-week, yet we were given a room on the fifth floor, end of the hall. On our day of check-out, housekeeping was knocking on the door just after 8:00am asking when we're leaving. Overall, I've had much better stays at more affordable rates.

First floor close to pool entrancePosted Jul 29, 2015
We wanted to get away for a night and swim in a nice pool. This hotel's pool is big and clean, so even with a decent amount of people in it we didn't feel clustered. The only complaint was the the room ac was right next to the bed and we couldn't change the direction that the air blew. We were either freezing with air in our face or sweating if we dared turn it down. Overall the hotel is a great stay if you intend on using the pool and staff was friendly.

Good choice for this part of townPosted Jul 17, 2015 on Hotels
I've stayed in 3 separate hotels in Mesa in 2015. This is the only one I've stayed in twice. Was close to where I needed to be and in the price range that would be reimbursable for work. The other 2 places that were similarly priced (maybe a bit cheaper) were not all that nice. I will definitely try to stick to this Holiday Inn when I travel to Mesa in the future.

Meh....Posted Jul 7, 2015 on Hotels
Convenient location for us while visiting family. Front desk staff seemed bored and bothered by us. Food ordered from the hotel restaurant was absolutely disgusting. Looked like a frozen dinner. Room was fine but a bit outdated and worn.
