Might Compete Well With Barracks From The Civil Wa

Posted Nov 26, 2016
Pros: The desk clerk, Delana, and the maids were the only saving grace. They were great, but didn't have much to work with at this decayed hotel.
Cons: The elevators and grounds could be cleaned and repaired. The rooms could be updated. Especially, the mold could be removed from the showers. Towels
Location: Located on edge of Scottsdale near airport, but doesn't represent the area well.
Delana, the check-in clerk, was very positive about her job, and tried to meet our needs. She was excellent. However, the hotel is in great need of repair and maintenance. The room we got first was filled with mold in the shower, and the toilet wouldn't flush properly--very weak. Delana apologized, offered free breakfast at Jaxon's, and gave us another room. In that room, the toilet flushed properly, and the mold was not quite as bad in the shower, but still a bit gross. Only one washcloth was provided, so we got another. The next day, after room was serviced, again we had only one wash cloth. However, the bed was nicely made, and sheets and towels were clean. The elevators are trashed, both in cleanliness and damage/wear to floors and lights in control panel. Holes were taped over with masking tape. Except for the pleasantness of the staff, we felt very uncomfortable. I'm sure Civil War veterans would have appreciated the accommodations when they were new or if they were updated. We won't be back ever. We have had 3 rooms in our 50 years of travel that were worse, though, so we didn't give this the lowest rating.

Thank you for being so thorough. We have never denied our need for remodel. We are actually in the process now. (You may have noticed if you were here M-F) We will halting our remodel in January and begin again in June. We hope to have everything complete by next December. This January about 1/4 of the rooms will be complete and ready to reserve.

Run Down Hotel

Posted Nov 21, 2016
Worn out in a dead part of Scottsdale. Seedy and dirty. There are much better accommodations in Scottsdale.

We are sorry you did not enjoy our hotel. We agree that there are better hotels in Scottsdale, but you will pay more. We find our location ideal We are directly between Phoenix and Tempe in Scottsdale giving access to all areas of the Valley. Our staff works very hard to ensure a pleasant stay in spite or our need of a remodel. We are date, but we are clean and friendly with an affordable rate.

Beware Bed Bugs

Posted Nov 15, 2016
The place would have been fine for the money except bed bugs got me good. I brought it to the attention of the hotel staff and they looked at me like what did ya expect. Spend a few dollars go elsewhere and don't get bitten.

Hello Andy. We did have your room inspected and did not find any bed bugs. We did put the room out of order as a precautionary measure and inspect it daily before returning it to inventory. If something does materialize it will be treated accordingly and kept out of order for 90 days.

Loud neighbors, very rundown, large area of MOLD

Posted Nov 8, 2016
Pros: The guy at the counter was friendly enough, beyond that it was not a pleasant experience.
Cons: Very rundown, leaking toilet, mini fridge did not work, large area of black mold under the bathroom vanity, very load clientele, people fighting and loud at all hours of the night, no room service. Not a very secure feeling staying there. very disappointed.
Location: I did not see much in the area, but then again I didn't venture out much.

We would very much like to know what room you stayed in. We did not hear of anything reported to the front desk, so we have no way of fixing the problem. We appreciate hearing from you. We do apologize for your experience.

TERRIBLE HOTEL

Posted Nov 2, 2016
Pros: Absolutely nothing.
Cons: Everything.
Booked on line with expedia as it showed accepted pets with a 200.00 deposit and put in comments on the reservation that I would have our 2 10 pound dogs with us. when I arrived at midnight they would not allow me to stay with my dogs advised me to leave them in the car. That was not happening and would not refund me for not allowing me to stay and expedia would not get me refund either with them. I spent 1 hour trying to find another hotel that I could stay a after driving 5 hours and being midnight. also the front office was dirty and very smelling and the help was nasty and would not even help to recommend another hotel around there that would accept the small dogs. would not stay or most likely use expedia again as they were no help at all to get my refund. There was a very loud bar right next door that you could hear from the front office no idea about the room as they would not allow me in.

First, we would have 100% refunded the room and tax - and still will. Regarding the pets allowed on expedia. We accept service pets only. Feel free to reach out to expedia. They will contact us and we will happily issue a refund for your 1 night.

Not what it used to be

Posted Oct 23, 2016
Pros: The pools were nice and clean.
Cons: Barely a one-star hotel
If our teammates were not staying here, we would have changed hotels. They are in the process of remodeling the hotel and/or turning them into rental apartments, but they are definitely not doing a very good job. The thermostat worked OPPOSITE of numbers on dial, carpet was nasty and I would not walk without shoes, shower is very small and water supply was a dribble at best. Turn the hot of 5 minutes before you intend to shower. Only good thing was nice clean pools. Laundry facility was adequate.

We are in the midst of a remodel. The main building will remain hotel - the back two buildings will be apartments and sold off. The carpets are clean - they need to be replaced. We have about a third of the hotel's main building being remodeled now, the remaining late next Spring. Hopefully, this time next year all the rooms will be completed - this is a 100% remodel - everything currently in the rooms will be gone, new walls, new furniture, new plumbing and individual AC/Heat units.

Business Trip

Posted Oct 15, 2016
The studio unit is small but generally comfortable. Two-day stay for business so didn't get to enjoy the pool and ramada area but I was pleased to see how well kept those areas were. I definitely will consider staying here again.
