Might Compete Well With Barracks From The Civil Wa

Delana, the check-in clerk, was very positive about her job, and tried to meet our needs. She was excellent. However, the hotel is in great need of repair and maintenance. The room we got first was filled with mold in the shower, and the toilet wouldn't flush properly--very weak. Delana apologized, offered free breakfast at Jaxon's, and gave us another room. In that room, the toilet flushed properly, and the mold was not quite as bad in the shower, but still a bit gross. Only one washcloth was provided, so we got another. The next day, after room was serviced, again we had only one wash cloth. However, the bed was nicely made, and sheets and towels were clean. The elevators are trashed, both in cleanliness and damage/wear to floors and lights in control panel. Holes were taped over with masking tape. Except for the pleasantness of the staff, we felt very uncomfortable. I'm sure Civil War veterans would have appreciated the accommodations when they were new or if they were updated. We won't be back ever. We have had 3 rooms in our 50 years of travel that were worse, though, so we didn't give this the lowest rating.

Thank you for being so thorough. We have never denied our need for remodel. We are actually in the process now. (You may have noticed if you were here M-F) We will halting our remodel in January and begin again in June. We hope to have everything complete by next December. This January about 1/4 of the rooms will be complete and ready to reserve.
