Usually a Hyatt fan, not this Hyatt.

Hyatt is normally a great place to stay when I'm traveling with my family. We love the space, the cleanliness, the layout, the breakfasts. This Hyatt left a lot to be desired, especially when compared to other Hyatt stays we've had. Upon checking in, we noticed a strange sulfur/sewer smell in our room that got stronger over the first hour. We asked to switch rooms which the staff was happy to accommodate and even noting they were aware of the smell on the 1st floor. They moved us to the 6th floor with a "bonus" balcony. The only problem was that the doorknob broke while my kids were out on the balcony. The handle was halfway off and would not open. With panicked children stuck on the balcony, I called the front desk to get some help. They sent the maintenance man and he was so great but completely had to take the doorknob off and then replace it. On top of the issues we had with our rooms, the entire facility could use some upkeep and maintenance. There were always staff (in the hall, at the breakfast area, at the pool, near the entrance) talking, smoking, and just overall not showing concern for guests. My kids and I had to leave the pool at one point due to the gathering of staff near the pool gate smoking and chatting away, completely oblivious to the guests (and children) in the pool. It is also near the airport (which we knew booking it and didn't mind as we like to watch the planes) but with all of the other issues we had, the noise from the airplanes can keep you up.
