Expedia did not tell us the main pool was closed, so that was a disappointment, but at least they had the spa pool as an alternate. The Manager, Kayla handled our complaint well. She was very professional and apologetic. She upgraded our room and gave us a $200 resort credit. The spa was really nice. The resort is really nice with casita style accommodations, but I think the grounds by the casitas could be improved with more cactus, desert flowers etc. The grounds around the main lobby/restaurants is lovely. The sun deck casita is a nice room and great that you have the sun deck, but the sun deck itself was a bit lack luster. They would be nicer if they had some planters with cactus in them or plunge pools on them or something. They look like a big deck with 2 lounge chairs and a table plunked on them - no style or decor on them. Frankie at the spa pool was very customer oriented and was helpful with moving umbrellas at the pool and keeping things clean and restocked.

The concierge left duty by 6:00 pm. leaving a void. Rooms were not quiet. I could participate in the conversation in the next room at 6:30 am. the pool options were limited due to construction.

Great southwestern atmosphere at an upscale level.Posted Aug 7, 2015
Pros: Upscale resort with old southwestern atmosphere.
Cons: Better directional signage on walk paths.
Location: Lots of outdoor activities nearby. Hiking, shopping and dining within minutes on local streets.
The staff is as good as you will find at any resort. All of the staff are friendly and concerned that their guests are totally satisfied. The atmosphere is southwestern at its best.

Great even without Jackrabbit pool.Posted Aug 4, 2015
Jackrabbit was closed for renovation, but the staff made up for it. The area was camouflaged in a way that you couldn't even tell it was going on. There was NO noise and it was closed off with a decorative fence. They removed the resort fee and we used the spa pool. There is even a discount for next year. We'll be back. Excellent customer service!!

JW Marriott Camelback VERY DRYPosted Jul 24, 2015
Booked then found out after the resort's pool was being redone and wouldn't be ready for months. No pool in 108 degree weather! The front desk told us to call if we wanted someone to pick us up and drive us to another resort to use their pool. Called, waited and called again. They should not of deceived us in advertising a pool.

Heart of HospitalityPosted Jul 16, 2015
Our first time to Arizona and were made to feel like royalty returning home. The children's pool was under construction so they upgraded our room for the inconvenience. We arrived at the hotel at 11, check in wasn't until 4 so we waited a bit for the upgraded room but they gave us a $100 credit because we had to wait and finally they allowed us to use one of the larger suites' private pools. Beautiful scenery, delicious breakfast buffet(not included but worth every penny) large beautiful clean rooms and attentiveness and friendliness you would find from a close family. Amazing time!

Great Anniversary SpotPosted Jul 13, 2015
Pros: The room, staff, grounds, and attitude of everyone.
We were treated like Royalty. JW Marriott Camelback was terrific. Everyone from the front desk to housekeeping staff were amazing. We were celebrating our 33rd Anniversary. We stayed on the grounds the whole time to get the full experience and were not disappointed. There was a gift in our room when we arrived from the staff. When we returned from a spa treatment there was a knock at our door....it was room service (we hadn't ordered anything), it was a gift of Champagne and pastries from Jason at the front desk along with a note congratulating us on our 33 years of marriage. We visited with Johnny (room service) and were very pleased. The icing on the cake was when we returned from dinner to find yet another gift in our room from JOHNNY. It was a beautiful Fruit Basket and another note of congratulations. So much more than we expected. WOW!!! We will definitely be back. Not because of the gifts butr because of how we were treated by EVERYONE.

Family vacation weekendPosted Jul 11, 2015 on Hotels
While the hotel is a little tired in places eg rooms/pool area this is more than made up for by the friendly, helpful and cheerful staff. The resort is beautiful and well spread out and I believe the pool area will be undergoing refurbishment soon. Joe on the bell desk was super friendly and helpful with activities and directions.
