The hotel is nice and new. Great location in downtown Phoenix. Easily walk to dining and entertainment.

not a great vacation spot ...

Posted Jan 25, 2016
Too far out of the way, although it is downtown. Just not much fun as a "vacation spot".

If you are looking for a downtown getaway, look no further! For a great experience outside of town, try our sister property in Sedona, the AMARA. Thank you for staying with us!

Exceptional staff at a great hotel

Posted Jan 10, 2016
Pros: The staff, clean room, comfy bed
Location: Pizzeria Bianco and Matt's Big Breakfast for food. Lux cafe near Heard Museum. Roosevelt Row is fun for strolling; go to a movie + beer at Film Bar!
I stayed at Hotel Palomar over New Years' Eve, and everything went so perfectly. I had a late arrival, but called beforehand, so everything went super smoothly at check-in. I even had a sightly complicated reservation, but it was again no problem at all; they made it zero work for me. The room was clean and beautiful, one of the Skyline rooms, and they were able to honor my request to have a room far from the elevator for quiet. Even though it was a busy time, the hotel room was quiet and peaceful, overlooking the pretty skating rink below. Sublimely comfy beds; I've never slept so well in a hotel! Room service food was so delicious I ordered it twice (and I never order room service). I really want to say that the staff were the best part. They make your experience the best. They were warm and friendly, always doing that extra little bit to help you - even when they might not otherwise need to. Definitely take advantage of the free bike rentals - so much fun to tool around Phoenix, find great artsy areas, cafes and restaurants (every coffee, cocktail and meal in that city was amazing, too, by the way). A really wonderful stay, I can't recommend them any more highly, and would love to go back (especially to escape winter!)

Margaret- Amazing review… Thank you so much! We LOVE hearing such great things about our staff and our hotel. Sounds like you had an amazing stay and were able to explore so much of what makes downtown PHX so awesome. I hear the weather around the country is pretty grim right now… you do know we are in the 70s, right!? Thanks again & see you soon.

Best option to watch the Suns!

Posted Dec 31, 2015
Pros: Close proximity to venues and easy to access from the light rail-airport.
Cons: When I inquired about options to get to the Gila River arena for the hockey game the front desk staff never mentioned taking the #573 express bus.
Location: Suns, DBacks, Tilted Kilt, Fuego Mexican, Majerles Sports Bar.
My son and I stayed at the Palomar Dec. 28-30 to watch the Suns vs. Cavs and Coyotes vs. Blackhawks. Lobby to Lobby for Basketball is at most a 3 minute walk! Lots of options for food and drink during events but things die early otherwise. They even had an outdoor skating rink adjacent to the hotel, hilarious for a couple of Canadians to watch.

Location, Location, Location!

Posted Dec 28, 2015
Pros: Location to downtown.
Cons: The quality of the bar staff varied greatly from evening to evening.
Location: Several fine museums are located near the facility. There are some o.k. restaurants in the area, also.
We were at the hotel for a five night stay over Christmas. The room was very nice-clean, comfortable and quiet. The location of the room, however, gave us a view of nothing. The hotel was substantially devoid of guests so I'm quite certain more desirably located rooms were available. Perhaps we could have moved to a different room if we had requested a change, but I just don't think we should have had to do that. The individual assisting us at check-in could have asked us about our location preference. The last two hotels of similar quality in which we stayed did so.

Bugsy- Thank you for taking the time to share your experience! Regardless of who is behind the bar, we want you to have an amazing experience... We will certainly focus in to ensure this is happening. Difficult to know what other room options may have been available, but we are always willing to take a look! We hope to see you again so we can be sure to blow you away. Thanks again.

Great hotel, location and service awesome!

Posted Dec 28, 2015
Great 2night stay. Quiet room that can be very dark for the morning. Okay views of downtown Phoenix. Nearby cafes, restaurants and bars, and great place to stay whwn in town foe an wvent. The sports venues are all nearby. Beautiful outdoor pool area with gorgeous city view. Second time to stay there, will stay there again. Only negative is the expensive parking, with no alternative. $30/night.

Thank you, Kjay. We appreciate the nod to our service team! Downtown parking can be a bit of a drag... We try to keep our rates the best in the area: $23/self parking & $30/valet. We look forward to stay #3! Thanks again.
