Adequate Budget Hotel In Downtown Phoenix

Cons: not enough electrical outlets to handle demands of tv, fridge, lamp, etc. Solution: disconnect every non essential plug and tv wont turn itself off!
The Rodeway Inn is within a quarter mile of the 2 downtown stadiums, and the ASU campus. It is also very near Grand Ave, McKinley Ave, Roosevel Ave, and Central Ave, which are fun streets lined with restaurants, bars, malls, art galleries, and other cool hotels, in addition to being close to major freeways. If you are willing to drive for 30 minutes or less, you can also get to Scottsdale ( which has an awesome old town), Peoria, Glendale, Mesa, and Tempe. The literal street location of the inn is a bit disappointing. There is construction across the street on one side, and a fire station and tire business on the other. It may appear sketchy, but remember, you are within a quarter mile of good stuff, so go down the street for a 10 minutes walk or 2 minute drive and you won't really care about the actual location. The main entrance also has a security code at night which only guests have access to. Parking can get a little tight on weekends, but street parking is plentiful. I only gave 3 stars because the hotel is very basic, and no frills, which is what you would expect. The room is clean, large for budget standards, has a balcony, fridge, microwave, table, and 24 in flat screen with good cable channels. My only issue was the electrical outlets were unable to handle the demands of the fridge, tv, microwave, lamp, and digital clock at the same time. If the fridge clicked on, while the tv was on, then the tv would turn itself off like a hairdryer! Annoying!

No coffee maker in room. Coffee maker was in office guest lobby but no one was there at time of leaving in early morning when one needs to have coffee. Claimed as free continental breakfast. There is nothing and no presence in lobby in morning.

Perfect location for my one-night visit to attend a concert at the Comerica Theatre. Unf. my room was across the street from a large fire station.

Pros: The bedding seemed clean and was comfortable. Bathroom was clean.
Cons: A little dank when we got in the room, left the door open to air out.
Location: Tons of good restaurants, bars, venues, arena, walking distance downtown Phoenix. Car recommended though because this city is huge as far as distance
Standard 2 star hotel right downtown. I am from Phoenix, and lived here my whole life, recently moved and now have the pleasure of trying these places. Some people may think this area is rough, but all of my friends ride bikes and walk around here. Downtown Phoenix is extremely safe at all hours compared to other parts. S of downtown and W can get sketchy. From this hotel I'd head E, NE to do stuff if walking. Crescent Ballroom is your immediate venue with great bar food and shows, bit younger crowd the later it gets.

Pros: Great lighting in room. Clean. Convenient.
Cons: Towel racks in bathroom.
Location: Very close to downtown if needing accommodation near functions at the larger hotels. three blocks from light rail makes it an excellent location.
Appreciated staff and management most of all, and their efforts to make our stay the best possible. They heard needs and met them. Everything was clean. Particularly important was that there was more than adequate lighting in the room, which we find often severely lacking in hotels. Huge bonus here. Thank you to the management for making our stay great.
