Needed a relaxing hotel and this was it!

Pros: Nostalgia hotel with lots of class
Great staff and wonderful Bistro. Had a wonderful dinner there and the waitress was fantastic. Ceaser salad the best I have ever had.

Probably used to be a very nice hotel...

Posted Feb 22, 2017
Pros: It's a very nice hotel. If they renovated it... I would love to stay there. Food was excellent. Restaurant and bar staff were awesome.
Cons: The bar seating is terrible. Those chairs and bar-stools should be used for interrogations...
Location: Didn't do a lot in town - was there for a sporting event.
This hotel feels like it was one the nicer hotels in Phoenix 15 years ago. Now it's showing it's age. Much of the furniture needs to be replaced, mattresses are shockingly old and out of shape. Lots of aging, but still very well maintained - clean - and you can tell the staff takes some pride in the hotel. It's too bad they haven't spent some money on it. This hotel has a lot of potential.

Check if any large groups are staying

Posted Feb 21, 2017
I didn't sleep for the two days that I stayed there. I wish I knew there was a kids soccer group staying there. Running and screaming up and down the hallways all night and day. Kids were even hanging out in the bar area. You know you're not the only one who complained when the staff doesnt bother to ask how was your stay at checkout.

overall

Booked it last minute, so I didn't get a chance to look at the reviews. Overall, it was ok. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone I know. The turn off was the blood stained comforter. I'm

Booking problems and miscommunication by staff

Posted Feb 14, 2017
Major issues with booking. Stood at the front desk for an hour to sort out the mess. Was told I could get a late checkout, then when I asked again to verify, was told late check out was not availdble. Wish I would have been told that the first time I "secured" the late checkout. I only needed an extra half hour. Was more than a little disappointed with the stay.

Comfortable hotel and conscientious staff - mostly

Posted Feb 13, 2017
Lovely fountain at entry draws you into a luxurious, open lobby. Computer stations, couches and gathering areas welcome you as you enter. Sixth floor had an impressive city view facing east. Traffic was loud but not too bad with sliding glass door closed. Starbucks coffee pods with coffeemaker. Double room didn't offer as many toiletries as a king room. Dining room had top notch attentive servers and the breakfast buffet was worth the $16 but you can purchase the breakfast option upon booking for $5. With several types of fresh fruit, cold cereal, oatmeal with add-ins, potatoes, eggs, and meat selection - $5 is a steal! Coffee and juice of course. Nice central location. Easy access to freeway. We'd go back and we would take our friends! (Photo is lava cake delivered to our room - delicious!)

Nice but noisy

Posted Jan 30, 2017
Pros: The restaurant and bar area were very nice.
The staff was great, the room was clean and overall the hotel was very nice. The restaurant and bar were very good and I would stay here again. My only complaint was the traffic noise. If noise bothers you, be sure to get a room away from the traffic.
