Booked this through Expedia. First night dirty room. No blanket. Heater worked but could not turn off. After telling front desk the next morning they gave me a fully renovated room that was quite nice. However I was told because I booked online I got the bad room in the first place. The difference between old rooms and new rooms is enormous. So I would stay again but only in a new room. Kudos to Brittany though that fixed this for me and changed my room.

Hotel appears to have been remodeled, but still remains very dated. Needs better signage, more secure doors with better seal around doorway. Could not get tub faucet to turn off - had a very wasteful constant leak. Air conditioner unit blew too hard right on us in bed - hard to maintain constant comfortable temperature. Lighting in bathroom too dim. Occupancy rate was very low, even over Holiday weekend; will not be able to remain in business long if they can't attract more visitors. Expect classier accommodations in that part of Scottsdale.

We are very sorry to hear your stay was not up to either of our standards and trust your concerns were properly addressed prior to your departure. The property has not had an update for several years but it under new ownership as of October 2016. We are diligently working to address any property concerns but do plan for a full property renovation early next summer. During the renovation all of the guest rooms, lobby, restaurant, and courtyard will be "gutted" and completely re-done offering a brand-new exciting hotel to the area. We hope you will come back to join us in the future

Good location, walkable

Pros: Large pool area.
Location: The location is walking distance to the Fashion Mall, 5th Ave district and Old Town.
The updated rooms are nice but there are older rooms that need some work.

This hotel did the job, was relatively clean. Inexpensive, hotel staff were very and accommodating !! Wouldn't stay here again though

Interesting Stay

This is an older property that was just taken over by an entity other than what I booked my reservation for. Hopefully the new owner/management have upgrades planned and are working out the kinks. Laying in bed, I heard someone stop outside of my door (assuming they were for the room right next door) and they used their room key to enter my room! They had been assigned the same room and apparently they had put me in another room in their computer system, despite the key they gave me. *Textured/stucco ceiling in some parts of the room *Old/cheap fixtures in the bathroom that have been beaten up by the water and are corroding *Hotel security door locks that aren't very sturdy/secure *Heating/cooling unit needed to be cleaned. I tried to run the heater after getting back late and there was a slight chill. However, the burning smell that ensued was atrocious so I promptly turned it off. And then the smoke alarm started blaring in the room shortly thereafter. *If you're in a room that has a door to the next room over (shared suite), be aware that you can hear everything. I do really hope the new owners can turn this place around. Given the location, they won't last much longer with the places around them.

Was there for a conference.

Pros: Hotel was very handy for what I wanted to do.... mainly to go to my conference at the DoubleTree a block and a bit away. The pool area seemed quite nice but I was so busy, there was no time to hang around much at the hotel itself. Room was quite quiet and comfortable. One day I had to work in my room and needed coffee.... talked to the cleaning crew for a while and they were quite nice and looked after what I needed.
Cons: It actually worked quite well for me. I'm usually more critical than this but everything seemed about right
Location: One night walked south about a mile and found a very good restaurant that was quite inexpensive... can't remember name but there were lots of them....

Broken lock. Locked out of room over & over

This hotel is pretty run down. Our door would not open and the maintenance guy said he did not have the parts to fix it. No one cared that we were locked out and had to get help to return into the room each time we left. Old ladies standing out in the dark calling for help. Other things did not properly work either. No soap left for us at first and only some decaf coffee in the room to begin with. No shampoo or other items that are usually waiting for the customer in the room. We had to ask. My sister and I will not be back to this Days Inn in Scottsdale. Stayed four days which was four days too long. No ice machine or things that you would expect. Not worth the money we paid to stay there.

It had a pool

Cons: See review above it was a horrible room
Location: Convenient location to shopping, restaurants and gold
HORRIBLE. Air conditioner barely cooled the room and unbelievably loud, no fridge and was told had to further pay extra, TV limited channels and blurry, bathroom door hit the toilet every time you opened/closed, had to hip check the front door to get into my room, noise from the parking lot so loud in the room. Booked this as a 3 star it was equivalent to maybe 1.5 star
