OK hotel - but totally lacking in atmosphere.

Pros: The rooms are very nice, modern & with good housekeeping service. Fairly close to beach & main street of Kata.
Cons: Pool area too small, not enough sun beds. Common areas too crowded & looking tired & in poor condition. Food poor. Reception staff not welcoming.
Location: Good for beach, Kata shopping & restaurants.
Hotel was completely lacking in character and was very crowded with tour groups. Bar & resstaurant have dreadfull atmosphere. Pool, terrace, common areas & ammenities are too small for the number of guests in the hotel and are old / in poor condition. i.e. broken & torn sun beds , poor library & games room. Daily battle to find a free sun bed. Restaurant very crowded at breakfast. Breakfast & food / beverage offer pretty poor. Staff not very helpful, particularly front desk. Concierge poor. Difficult to find help with bags, tours, information etc. I stay in Accor hotels a lot & this is not a particularly good one.

Great hotel

3rd visit in 5 years and still love Avista, rooms clean and good facilities. Breakfast buffet always good, although the sweets selection is underwhelming (they look amazing but do not taste so). Staff are lovely but do feel they have lost some of the personal touches they used to have since changing to Novotel

Outdated Hotel

The hotel is up a hill but walkable and about a 10 minute walk to the beach. Shops are not too far away. The hotel is not a 4.5 star hotel. The room was outdated. The furniture was dirty. Thr room I was given had mold and rust in the shower and water was leaking onto the floor. We asked to change rooms and the next one we were given was not much better. Would not stay here again.

It's good hotel for staying traveller of family

Location: Restaurants ,convenience stores, pharmacy and exchange booth are available closed distance 5 to 10min
It was located small Hill and near Kata beach on foot 10min. You can go beach after put on swimming clothe and supplied big size towel from Hotel directly. Morning buffet also was abundance several vege and non vegetables. Thanks to nice King bed and mattress size of comfortably but little bit non dry conditions during two nights I think it is smart grade and cost effective

Overall a pleasant experience for my family.

Pros: The room with 2 large queen beds were just nice for my family. Comfortable beds.
Cons: Bcos of mosquitoes, cannot enjoy the balcony nor pool at night. The uphill climb back to hotel is tiring after a day at the beach.
Location: Hotel is within short walking distance to beach and night market. Plentiful of eateries to choose from.
Room was spacious. WiFi available and stable. Staffs are friendly and helpful. Food is good. Good location to beach access. Good facilities within hotel. Rainy season - mosquitoes are nuisance.

More a low three star than a four and a half stars

At first glance hotel seems ok, but I couldn't wait to leave. Rooms ok but everything in the room damp. All clothes and bedding felt wet every day, so all holiday i felt dirty. So dissapointed in our stay. No atmosphere in the hotel at all, not a place to stay for a young couple. Breakfast was terrible, we only ended up going twice and had toast as very little choice for the English traveller. Dinner was worse, ordered two burgers which were pink after asking for very well done, a very odd taste which we left, I wondered if they actually contained meat !! Then got a service charge put on top of the bill. On to room service, ham and cheese toasties arrived cold with Luke warm chips. Pool area is very small but with service charges added to drinks made it an expensive treat around the pool. Stay at home and save your money.

Nice resort not far from kata beach and shops

Check in to resort is efficient staff are friendly and helpful right from the cleaning staff all the way to reception. Pool area and day spas are very good breakfast buffet has a good variety of food.very good resort
