Was the 5th⭐️ Self-appointed?Posted Nov 22, 2015
Cons: Friendlier staff
Location: you need a tuk-tuk to get anywhere exciting
For a "5⭐️" facility it wasn't as good as the hotel claims. The rooms were nice but not opulent, the grounds were nice but not spectacular and the staff were not very bi-lingual. I had a lot of trouble ordering food and drinks with usually a second staff member called across to help. The drivers at the front door don't move for less than $15 and the pool bar walk around looking busy. Location is good and the choice of four pools was great but, five star? .... No

Highly recommend this hotel. Have been coming back for years and will do so as it has everything virtually on your doorstep. Beach, restaurants within walking distance, shopping, bars, massages and transport. Absolutely love the place.

Patong Melin Hotel is excellent.Posted Sep 8, 2015
Pros: Liked everything, 4 great pools to choose from cannot fault it this place.
Cons: Always something to improve if you want to look real hard but if your are there for a holiday it is ideal.
Location: Close to beach, markets, shopping, nightclubs, massage. Probably a 20 min stroll to Bangla Road or $8 (200 bhat) tuk tuk ride.
Ticks all boxes for us. Close to everything. Have stayed here all 3 times we have been to Phuket, people in next room said they had been to Phuket 13 times before and stayed in many places and said this was best.

An accessible hotel with great poolsPosted Sep 2, 2015
Pros: 4 great pools, newly spruced-up rooms and a very accessible location.
Cons: Need some ambient lighting for its corridors so that they do not look like hospital alleys.
Location: Little shops, eateries and BANGLA STREET!
Stayed for a short 3 nights. We were in Building 2 and had a pool view. The room is obviously updated hence it has the see-through glass panel between the bathroom and the bedroom; my wife liked that. Although the room was not affected by the adjacent Hard Rock Hotel music, as frequently reported by other reviewers, this room will get some music from the in-house cafe instead. However, the music was generally muffled when the balcony glass doors were closed. The music seems to end relatively early - around 11-plus at night. We were usually asleep by then anyway since we had a 3-year-old with us. The pools were great and staff would greet you whenever we met. The corridors do look a bit tired and could used some extra lighting - it does not need to be bright lighting... more like some ambient lighting. Breakfast has enough variety for all and the location is close enough to all those little shops and eateries. The back entrance leads to the beach and it is about 15 minutes' stroll to the loud Bangla Street. We took a gamble with the low season to take advantage of the cheaper prices, and it paid off quite well. Besides a 1.5 hour rain shower during lunch time on the 2nd day, it has been sunny skies! :)

comfortable hotel, across road from beachPosted Aug 31, 2015
Pros: the relaxing atmosphere and location
Cons: The food areas - quality of food served in the buffet and dining experience
Location: Great location - across the road from the beach - not far to walk to the local shopping centre, or the markets which are very close
The hotel is well set out, rooms are comfortable and have space for cases etc., outside balconies really great would be lovely to have a comfy chair to sit in - inside the room to relax in. I found the buffet area ok - one night quite good next time we went a few nights later the food not as good - needs to be good every night for the price paid. The music in the foyer at night is lovely very relaxing with a quite drink, we found the staff very friendly and helpful. The pool areas are lovely quite lush gardens and a lovely relaxing place to be
