Adequate but unenjoyable

Posted Nov 9, 2016
Pros: The staff are friendly and helpful. I didn't eat there, but the food is said to be good.
Cons: Rooms and bathrooms - as well as the public areas - could do with a makeover before too long.
Location: Midway between Bologna and Ferrara. The location assumes you have a car (I didn't), so plenty of possibilities.
Fairly basic facilities, ok for a short stay. Utilitarian, no atmosphere, but adequate.

The hotel was almost in the middle of nowhere, but a very good restaurant and access to a very good fitness centre :-)

Old Hotel in the middle of nowhere.

Posted Apr 9, 2014
Pros: The staff, restaurant/food.
Cons: Beds
Location: The area is quiet and no modern venues but if you are adventurous you could take the train to Venice. Also there is a Lamborghini factory/museum.
I stayed at the hotel during the COSMOPROF in Bologna because there were no other hotels available near the venue. It was about 40 minutes from Bologna Fiere. The hotel staff are amazingly friendly and helpful. Due to the poor public transportation from the hotel to the venue the hotel made arrangements with the local bus company to accomodate the people attending the Cosmoprof. I guess due to the hotel being in a very small town access to public transportation and any convenient stores (Coffee shops, restaurants, convenient stores, mart etc) is difficult. The facilities of the hotel such as beds, television and public areas are pretty old by any metropolitan standards. The bed was way too soft and I couldn't sleep well. However, the restaurants were very inexpensive and the food was awesome. The pizza and pastas were the best I have ever tasted by the way. Over all, unless you want to spend some time in a small town for some quiet time I wouldn't recommend the hotel.

Great for business travelers

Pros: The restauraqnt had excellent beef.
Location: Located in a small farm community about 25 minutes drive from the city center of Bologna.
The hotel is perfectly acceptable for the location. As pieve di cento is mostly a farm community about 25 minutes outside of Bologna. for the price the hotel is perfect. The Wi-Fi signal is only available in the lobby of the hotel. I was NEVER able to access it from my room or the restaurant (I was there for 10 days). I often lost all mobile signals in the restaurant. Overall the hotel is clean (a bit dated but again it was fine) and the staff was very friendly.

great value for the money and friendly services

Pros: free mini bar and good free breakfast
Cons: the door lock is not easy to open
Location: a good location
It offers a great value for the price paid. Also, the courteous service and free mini bar inside the room is great.

Grand Hotel Once

Very tired Hotel that once would have been grand. Soft furnishings very shabby, decor badly needing a makeover. Amenities closed or only open at certain times. More two star than four. This was a huge disappointment.

The air conditioning in the public areas was poor (hot), in the room was noisy and didn't cool. The bathroom in the room is big, but the shower extremely small, there no place where accommodate your personal belonging. At all, was a bad experience to lodge at this hotel.

Close to Cento and Pieve di Cento town centre

I came for 3 nights on business. The hotel is very old style and rooms are old fashioned. The noise through the walls and door is so loud that I couldn't get much sleep even though I had a junior suite! On the plus side the staff were very polite and helpful. I would not recommend the hotel.

Pros: The food.
Cons: costumer service at the reception.
The hotel was neat and well furnished. The food was excellent, but some of the people working at the reception lacked knowledge of the english language, room service was mediocre if at all it existed.
