Group Hotel Review

Posted Jul 9, 2017
Our stay was not a good one. The room that I reserved with the courtyard view had 1 broken bed. I had to make other sleeping arrangements for 2 of my guests, which is unacceptable. I'm sure that housekeeping should have recognized the broken bed while changing the linen. The location of the other 2 rooms were not good on the 1st floor. The front desk clerk did not verbally communicate the room locations and was not very helpful, but did give pamphlets.

Enjoyed all the amenities the hotel had to offer. The room could use with some updated carpet but overall an excellent stay.

Wonderful Surprise!

Posted Jun 6, 2017
Pros: Everything!
Location: Mountain Creek Inn is a property of Callaway Gardens and the stay includes access to the Garden. There is also an animal park in Pine Mountain.
When I originally made the reservations, I had requested a roll-away cot for extra sleeping. When I arrived, Dianne, working the desk, said that they do not have roll-aways. She asked me if an air mattress would work. I had three adults and three children so I needed extra sleeping room so I said we could work with that. Dianne left the desk for a few minutes and came back and told me she hated to see anyone sleep on the floor so she upgraded my room at no additional cost. We ultimately got a suite with two bedrooms, three bathrooms and a huge living room area. Thank you very much, Dianne and Mountain Creek Inn!

Desperate need of renovations!

Posted Jun 4, 2017
This hotel is in desperate need of renovations. Furniture old; nasty carpet tiles in rooms. "Upgraded" to king suite with roof top balcony. Balcony bricks were loose, some even laying loose and out of position. Pergola had wood shavings underneath and across patio. Wrought iron chaise broken. Room itself was better, but furniture not even dusted.

Free entry to Callaway Gardens!

Posted May 14, 2017 on Orbitz
Pros: Affordable and comfortable for those who want to spend time at Callaway Gardens.
Cons: Hotel staff could be more upbeat and friendly.
Bed was super comfy and the room was clean. Great location! Bike trails have recently been repaved at Callaway Gardens and the biking is wonderful! The room comes with free admission to Callaway.

Worst service

Posted Apr 24, 2017 on Hotels
Too far from where we needed to be. After booking this room I called in less than 5 mins to cancel. The hotel would only cancel on my expense of one nights stay! This was 5 MINS after booking. Upon arriving our room was not ready front desk lady stated she would call our cell when the room was ready and it would not be more than 20 to 30 mins. Over an hour later we checked back in with the front desk as we had not received a call and she said it had been ready she FORGOT to call us and let us know.. After checking out I noticed the second night rate was not the correct charge, also the charge was not mentioned during checkout at all. The front desk clerk said she could not change the amount I would have to call back after 9am to speak with someone in accounting. I waited and called in around 9:15-9:30 and after finally getting someone who told me the accounting wasn't open on the weekends! I got the managers name as she was expected in at 10am. 4/15/17, I called the manager at 10:05am and was told she was not in yet asked to leave my name and number to have her call me back... We were traveling the following week so I was hoping for a return call asap, which did not happen until 4/18/17 and this was a call from the accounting department not the manager. This hotel has awful customer service, smells musty and is not very clean. The one good thing we encountered was the staff at the hotel bar/restaurant, they were very pleasant and helpful!

Very comfortable but hotel didn't have the restaurant open for breakfast.

Dear Bob, The Vineyard Green does open at 3:00 pm each day. However, we do offer many other choices for breakfast such as The Country Kitchen or the Piedmont Dining Room in the Lodge and Spa. We do hope that during your next stay with us you would give one of these restaurants a try.

Too dated, inadequate staff, musty smelling room.

Posted Apr 12, 2017
Walked in and had to stand in line to check in for over 30 minutes. Most of the time there was one checkin clerk and was taking an inexplicably long time with each guest. Finally got room. Drove around back and it was obvious this was an old motel, slightly remodeled. In fact discovered this was originally a 1950's Holiday Inn. Walked in and the musty smell was strong. Honestly wondered how healthy this environment was. When I was younger, I wasn't so picky, but in my 60s I am reluctant to stay in such a place if I can avoid it. The next day I checked out a day early and moved to a sister property, The Lodge & Spa, that was booked the first night. Total opposite experience. My advice, if you can't get The Lodge, don't go. Callaway can put lip stick on a pig, but is still a pig. Tear it down.

Dear Marshall, I am sorry to see that your check in and first night were not an enjoyable experience. However, I am pleased that we were able to correct it and have you leave with a better experience. We are working on improving the guest experience any chance we can and are always grateful when we get suggestions on how to make it better. We do hope to see you again soon.
