Traveling with pet, modest budget

We only stayed one night but this hotel exceeded my expectations and the 3.9 Expedia average rating. When traveling with a pet on a budget, La Quinta and Red Roof Inns are typically the end game. This hotel was so much better as it is new, the fixtures modern, clean facility throughout, very comfortable mattress/bedding, quiet with thick windows, a gastropub adjacent to the property and conveniently located to local retail.

Close to family and reasonable

Good for a night

Cons: Parking lot security
Right off of 76 which is why we picked it, as we were driving through PA. Hotel was comfortable & clean, check in easy, breakfast was great with lots of options. My only concern was the large amount of non hotel staff/guests hanging out in the parking lot in the morning. It was a little strange, perhaps they were car pooling or something but they were hanging around our car & made it challenging to load up our items & family. They were not rude but definitely not friendly. It was a little unsettling.

Several convienient dining options.

There was a mix up in the reservation and Expedia had cancelled my room. Fortunately, there was one available and they staff took care of me. However, I had to pay again so Expedia owes me a refund.

Ongoing renovation makes it a bad stay

Hotel was being renovated on all floors at once. Hammering went on till about 7:00 pm and started afresh at 8:00 am. Was assigned a room which had renovation going on; in all the surrounding rooms. (i.e. rooms on either side and directly in front) Water was shut off at 9:00 am the next morning. Took a while to come back on. Made me late for a meeting.
