Excellent Choice for the Money

This hotel is a really good choice for the price. The room was comfortable, clean, well-maintained, and well-equipped (small fridge, microwave, coffee maker). Lots of pillows, lots of towels. There's a free shuttle that will pick you up and drop you off within a 3-mile radius, which is surprisingly useful. We took advantage of this for our visit to the Carnegie Mellon Entertainment Technology Center. The free breakfast is pretty extensive, including hot oatmeal, make-them-yourself waffles, cold cereal, mini muffins, toast, yogurt, fresh fruit, and granola, in addition to coffee and a variety of teas. There are only two areas where this hotel was not superlative: the free WiFi is weak, with security that's iffy enough that my husband's browser wouldn't let him connect; and the room-darkening curtain only covers 2/3 of the window. The other 1/3 is a sheer "privacy" curtain, which is not private at all, and lets in all sorts of street lamp light at night and sunlight during the day. If you require total darkness to sleep and are disturbed when the sun shines in, you might need an alternative method of covering your eyes.
