Nice hotel for a night out in Pittsburgh

Posted Jan 6, 2016
Pros: The room was very nice, but our experience with the hospitality of the front desk was my favorite part! They were friendly and very helpful.
Cons: Offer more munchies/appetizers on your menu :)
Location: Great proximity to University of Pittsburgh, and within minutes by Uber of Shadyside & Southside areas.
My friends and I recently needed a hotel for a night out on the town in Pittsburgh for NYE. This was a great find for us, as it was decently priced for a Hilton, was in a central location to most of the areas in Pittsburgh, and had all the accommodations we needed for a great evening. They had a shuttle service to the major bar areas of the city, but these were pretty crowded because of the holiday, so we took an Uber which arrived in minutes. Additionally, we ordered pizza to our room that the hotel desk had recommended and it was fantastic. We very much enjoyed our stay and fully plan to book this hotel for future trips to Pittsburgh. P.S. Parking is not included in your room price, so just be aware of that if that is an issue with your booking! It is valet only.

Great Pittsburgh Hotel in the Oakland area

Posted Dec 29, 2015
Pros: Large clean spacious rooms, tea and coffee facilities in both the room and the lobby area, complementary shuttle service to the local area
Location: The Pitt Campus is easy within walking distance including the beautiful Cathedral of learning. Great location for all the major sports fields in Pitt
Was visiting our daughter who is studying at the University of Pittsburgh. Hotel is very clean, very well run with a quick and easy check in. Our room was a double queen size bed room and stayed here with my wife and two grown up daughters. Room was plenty big enough with lots of drawer space. Room had tea and coffee making facilities and complementary hot beverages were also available in the lobby area. Bar and food area was also very nice. The Hotel offered a complementary mini bus shuttle service, which would drop you off within a three mile radius and pick you up after you ring them when you are ready. There were plenty of comfy seats in the lobby and surrounding areas which was always nice to sit and have a minute (with your complementary beverage) after a day out sight seeing. Plenty of nice places to eat and shops within walking distance, including supermarkets and pharmacy.

Valet parking is mandatory at 18 per night.

Posted Dec 22, 2015
Stayed to attend a steelers game. Big mistake. Hotel was very nosiy with people running through hallway all night long. Hotel is right on a Main Street so you hear traffic all night. Parking is mandatory that you use their valet parking at 18 per night. This game was a 4 pm game so I was required to pay an additional night of parking since you have to get your vehicle by 6 pm. So I had to pay for 2 nights of parking when I was there less than 24 hrs. Checkout is 12 noon and no exceptions. I asked for a later checkout...... Nope I will never stay there again or recommend it to anyone. Staff was very rude and short. Not willing to help or make life easier. Waiing for valet to get my vehicle took forever. Apparently they couldn't find my car. Are you kidding me.

Nice hotel close to Pitt.

Cons: Decor in lobby.
Location: Pamela's diner and Fuel and Fuddle restaurant.
All of the staff we met were exceptionally friendly. The lobby decor is a little outdated, but the amenities were great. Our experience overall was excellent.

Transportation

Staff was friendly and polite and accommodating. The only problem was the shuttle; there weren't enough of them to take you to where you could take the ferry to the games.

Pros: location
In town for a Pittsburgh Steeler game; hotel advised us not to drive ; their shuttle service would take us. That was great and saved us a lot of money; we did not have to pay for parking. Hotel clean and staff friendly; would recommend and will stay again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
