nice view, but "ok" experience

the drive to the hotel was pleasant...twists and turns on a tree covered road. good first impression through the front gate...the structure and grounds looked well maintained. the view of the valley in the back was beautiful.
we booked rio vista, which was downstairs and had direct access to outside. the furniture looked they've been around for a while, definitely less fresh than the pictures online or on hotel's brochures. cleanliness can improve a notch but overall decent. there were no other guests on our first night, so privacy was not an issue (like having people walking around outside our room to look at the view).
the breakfast on our first morning was nice and well-presented. we had french toasts with fresh fruits. the staff was interested in how we were doing and our experience.
the breakfast on our second morning was just ok. the frittata was pretty cold when it was served to us. the staff appeared more rushed in our brief interactions. the kids had microwaved croissant-wich and greek yogurt parfait.
overall, we would give this b&b 3.5 stars. we had high expectations based on past reviews, but somehow left feeling that it was just an "ok" stay. we can't quite pinpoint it, it was something here and there that never made the experience quite complete.
Question: would we recommend this place to a friend?
Answer: yes and no. "yes" for the view; "maybe" for the overall experience
