Very friendly staff who do what they can to make your stay great. Location is out of the centre but is actually quite nice as it's a very quiet neighbourhood for early sleepers, you won't have too much noise keeping you up; the tram (9) right outside the hotel is perfect for getting into the centre or a stones throw away the 3 or 7 tram will get you to the Museum centre. The bar is comfortable with well priced drinks. The room was extremely comfortable with tv channels from around the world as well as fridge and safe facilities. Would recommend this hotel and would stay again

Treat myself to a beautiful hotel

Posted Jul 16, 2017
Pros: Size of room
Cons: Maybe some free food option - juice or apple. Coffee and pastry
Location: Park and museums and canal. Metro and trains
Stop over in Amsterdam - my daughter was job hunting and I treated her to a nice hotel from coach surfing at friends. She loved it! Comfortable bed with luxury linens. Bathrobe and slippers. Great products and fabulous shower And big bath. She slept great - not bothered by noise and there is a beautiful park across the street for morning jog. She ate at coffee shops near by and restaurants close by used by locals. She thought the location was convenient to train station/metro/bus. Not too touristy so quieter. Loved the luxury factor.

quiet hotel just out of town

Posted Jul 13, 2017
Pros: our room was at the back therefore quiet
Cons: the restaurant could do better, for the price the cooking should be more proffesional
Location: the tram stop was close by so could get to all the things we wanted to do, such as the art galleries and museums
Should have requested walk-in shower, instead of one in bath. I am 5ft tall and most people in Amsterdam appear to be over 6ft so I found getting in or out of bath hazardous, Plenty of hot water though

Not a 4 star hotel.

Posted Jun 28, 2017
If you're expecting the normal level of comfort & service you'd receive from all of Amsterdams other 4 star hotels you'll be disappointed. This is more 'serviced' rooms than a hotel in that it lacks any facilities. (I say 'serviced' because nothing other than the bathroom was cleaned during our entire stay and by day 3 was covered in a thick layer of dust). Key points: - Booked a kingsize bed, got 2 singles pushed together, massive gap down the middle and 2 separate single duvets - Room had a horrible ridged laminate floor. Really not nice in a bedroom and seriously uncomfortable to walk on - Room Service is AWFUL. We ordered 2 cups of tea (we'd got soaked walking back to the hotel). We were brought tea bags and told to make it ourselves. And that for a service charge of €4.50 thanks very much. - There are literally NO facilities other than the bedrooms and a not-so-great restaurant. Oh apart from a vending machine in reception... - Aircon was interminably noisy - It's on a main tram line so expect tram noise til late at night and again early in the morning - The balcony doors don't have an outside handle. I know that's for security but it does mean you can't get back in if you don't prop the door open!! Plus points: - The employees we dealt with were polite - Nope, that's actually it for positives. Sorry. Pick literally any other 4 star hotel in the city for a better experience and more comfortable room.

Dear Rebecca, Thank you for reaching out to us. We clearly missed in delivering and did not even come close to matching your expectations. The least you may expect from any hotel is to have the basics right. We failed to do so and for that I am sorry. Feedback like yours helps us to grow and for that I am gratefull. Rooms should be clean and rainy days should give as a reason to suprise our guests and not to the opposite. I would love to have you back as I am confident that we are better that you experienced. Kind regards, Paul Bremen General Manager

Great Hotel!

Posted Jun 7, 2017
Pros: Comfortable beds. convenient for transport links.
Location: Beautiful park nearby. Lots of restaurants on the same road as the hotel, all open from breakfast til late.
Lovely hotel, great room with a comfortable king size bed. We had a side room which I think was a bit quieter than being right at the front, our friend had a front facing room and had a few disturbed nights with noise, loud voices mainly, from a late night deli across the road. The hotel was close to Muiderpoort train station, the tram stopped right outside to take you into the city centre. We chose to walk most days as the weather was glorious. It took about 20 to 30 minutes. Staff on reception were friendly, welcoming and helpful. We didn't use the restaurant but we had drinks from the bar served outside in the sunshine, we did have to wait a while to be served on one evening, they were particularly busy in the restaurant. I would definitely recommend this hotel, good value for money too.

Nice hotel, great architecture

Posted Jun 5, 2017
We liked the hotel and the architecture, the location was good, near to a park and away from the tourist nightmare. Good pub nearby called the Beer Garden. The number 9 tram takes you right up to the tourist areas, the boat tours and the central station from right outside the hotel. Good points are that the bed was comfortable, the room had a fridge and was very clean. Bad points, there are stairs to the split level rear annex that we were in, so had to lug bags up and down a bit. The rear annex was not part of the old building so we felt a bit conned as we thought that all rooms would be in the nice old part of the building as shown on their website. Worst nightmare for me is that the window only opened a tiny bit. This happens in so many hotels, you cannot get fresh air and you feel like you re cooped up in a box with stale air. As with most hotels, the room we were in had air conditioning that did nt respond to the controls, so we froze in the night and were way too hot in the day. All that could be solved by letting us open the windows. We are paying proper grown-up rates to stay in a hotel, so please let us choose whether to have our windows open or not. Lastly, if breakfast is not included then it is 20 Euros each for Continental breakfast, which is quite unfriendly when we were already paying more than we wanted to for the room itself. There is a bakery nearby which does great food, but it would be nicer to be able to eat in the hotel for a reasonable rate.
