Good location, but rooms aren't that great. For the same price, the La Quinta we stayed at was far better in terms of bedding, cleanliness, etc

Pros: It was the only hotel available closest to my preferred vicinity.
Cons: Cleaner lobby, and better rooms.
Location: This hotels is located off of University Drive, and is within walking distance of restaurants, banks, and shopping.
It was a last resort for an unplanned trip right after Hurricane Irma. The lobby was pretty unkempt by basic standards - noticeable trash/dirt on the carpet and smudges/fingerprints on the front desk and side table. The lady at the reception desk was extremely helpful. She even assisted me to my room (first floor), since my hands were full. Check-in was quick and very efficient. The room was in need of an update (popcorn ceilings, formica kitchen cabinets, bath and shower liner, furniture, bedding, drapes). There was a weird smell in the room, as well, like a mix of dampness, old funk, and a floral scented air freshener. Usual fixings were not in the bath (shampoo, conditioner, lotion, etc.) except a bar of soap. Maybe these are usually provided upon request from the front desk. The bed was stiff, for my taste. At checkout (two days later) the same smudge/fingerprints were at the reception desk. I reported the smelly room issue. Hopefully, at least that gets fixed so that no other patrons would have to endure that.

Hotel misrepresents itself - pricing and amenities

Posted Sep 19, 2017
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Hotel must stop misrepresenting itself. For the price they charge, guests can stay at a better hotel and receive the amenities advertised.
Location: In Plantation area with many other hotels nearby at similar pricing and better quality. Area has major shopping mall, eateries, movie complex in mall.
No valet for bags, only one cart available for numerous guests. Hotel staff indifferent. Pricing misrepresented, although I received discount via Expedia for the 2 day stay, when asked to extend xtra day, I was advised by nite desk clerk that price would be $13 more. In AM when I went to pay, desk clerk advised me price would be $27 more than what nite desk clerk quoted. ($40 more than the Expedia price). Hotel misrepresented itself from their amenities, e,g,. Breakfast was coffee/tea and a fruit/nut packaged bar, their "fully equipped" kitchens had NO coffee maker, pots/pans, silverware, drain board and other items as advertised. Yes kitchen had microwave, fridge and sink, but occupants have to bring EVERYTHING else. Also, hotel claimed to have backup generator for guests which was inaccurate. Generator was for lighting.Booked this hotel thru AARP and Expedia for oxygen dependent family member and requested room on 1st floor due to age (65) and disability. Although booked almost a week in advance, was given room on 3rd floor with disabled, aged family member and 2 service dogs.

Basic

Posted Sep 18, 2017
Pros: Location
Cons: Smoking/non-smoking room location, outdated rooms, broken fridge, cable signal
Location: Lots of restaurants nearby and a mall
I checked in to this place after being without power for a few days after Hurricane Irma. Given the price, I was definitely not expecting much but was disappointed that smoking rooms were located adjacent to non-smoking rooms. Typically, hotels that still have smoking rooms will have them on separate floors to avoid non-smoking guests having to go through a cloud of smoke to get to their room. Additionally, there were two large dogs in the swimming pool (yes, in the water) which is something that should not be allowed as it is unsanitary. However, the front desk seemed short-staffed (there was only one person there whenever I walked by), so I can understand dogs in the pool not being a priority. As far as the room, it had a weird smell and the fridge was not cooling. The rest of the room was basic and outdated but appeared to be clean. The bed is rather stiff, but not terribly uncomfortable. The front desk lady (Leena I think was her name) was very nice and accommodating.

Cons: Housekeeping
It was a nice place to stay for the hurricane. When we checked in there was a pair of mens underwear between the chair and window. The bathtub had mold around the bar and handles in the bathtub. Under the shelf under the sink in the bathroom, was dust. I did tell them about the underwear and they came to pick it up. They offered us another room but at the time we did not see the rest of it. It was after it started getting bad that we noticed the mold and dirt under the shelf. They were booked because of the hurricane so we didn't ask about changing rooms. It was a good place to stay, just check your room when you check in.

I kept my room clean myself, staff never came to clean and I was there for 3 nights. Pool is small and didn't look clean.
