Great location a bit away from town

Posted Jan 14, 2017 on Hotels
This property is located just a few minute cab ride from town, but is so comfortable and quiet except for some road traffic. The rooms have a mini kitchen so you can do some grocery shopping to make things like coffee and simple stuff with a small stove top that is in the room. We also ordered take out a couple nights and dined at the table in our room after working our tails off on some day hikes. The staff here for the most part were very helpful and friendly.

Terrific option west of Bariloche

Posted Nov 24, 2015
If you're interested in spending some time outside Bariloche, the Rochester might fit the bill. Roughly 6 km west of town, it's easily reached by bus (three lines stop within a hundred yards of the hotel) or taxi, and offers a nice look towards the lake and the Andes. Our room was immaculate and more than comfortable, and featured huge windows and two ample balconies; our daughter loved the trampoline and the generous (and generously heated) pool. The breakfast - mostly packaged items and instant coffee, delivered to your room - is overpriced, but no worries: just buy your own supplies ahead of time, and enjoy the view on your own terms!

Luxury ... but not in the kitchen

Posted Nov 15, 2015
Pros: The setting. The wildlife and blossom trees in the garden.
Cons: Replace scratched up cookware. Make towel rails fyrther from wall so towels fit.
Location: Not far from Cerro Catedral ski resort. The ski lift was operating in spring. Trout fishing, smoked trout, a too expensive Rosa de Mosqueta shop.
We decided to splurge on a couple of our stays in South America. Rochester in Bariloche was one. I would recommend having a car if you stay here, as it isn't close to town. I'm pretty sure we saw the local bus go past too. Saying there - 15 mins out of centro - gives you quicker access to Cerro Catedral and some other scenic lake areas en route. Plus it is situated just across from the main lake. We liked the patio and sliding doors. The pots and pans in the kitchen have seen better days. Very scratched up non-stick coatings didn't invite too much cooking. Might be time to replace to bring them up to the standard of the rest of the property's features. I kept the bathroom window open, which meant there was a bit of road noise, since the hotel is on the main artery.

Pros: Everything
Cons: Just keep it going :)
Location: All the major attraction are very close by, the best thing to do in bariloche is to rent a car if you want to enjoy totally.
Excellent hotel, Very well quipped kitchen. The hotel was simply superb.

Nice Stay

Posted Feb 27, 2015 on Hotels
Hotel is in a good location and the rooms are nice, big, and clean, although we were on the far end, so didn't really have a view of the lake. The rooms closer to the entrance have much better views.

Nice hotel, but the noise from other roooms (stairs, walking...) and from outside (cars, trucks, people talking...) don't give the oportunity to take rest. Also, the windows are very high and the sun lights enters to the room and so the "wake up call" is very early. The hotel is not good for take rest.

Very nice hotel!

Posted Jul 2, 2013
Pros: Cleanliness and comfort. Stylish design, facilities are kept very clean.
Cons: Some practical information about things to do in the area (especially how to get around!) would have been useful. Perhaps a brochure upon arrival?
Location: This not a centrally located hotel but the local bus to and from downtown is only a few steps away. Could have written much more but there is no space
Stayed two days, very comfortable and spacious rooms with state of the art amenities including a fully equipped kitchenette and plasma TV.
