Nice hotel and close to the beach

Pros: Close to the beach
Cons: Air conditioning in the lobby and buffet areas. More golf carts available through out the day
This resort has 5 resorts in one. Please note, that the Del Mar does not have air conditioning in the lobby or the buffet areas. If you want air conditioning you must stay in the Premium Gold resorts. Other than that, the staff was nice and friendly, rooms were clean, the resort is huge but they offer golf cart rides through out the resort. Pool is gorgeous and clean. Food in the buffets was good and offered reservations at specialty restaurants based on the number of nights you stay. The beach area has lots of covered areas but there are lots of rocks in the water, so you need to be careful!

great hotel, good drinks, alot of space

Pros: really nice, polite staff and i liked the resort is big and you are not confined to a small hotel and beach. There is alot of space without being bore
Cons: food choices
Location: we went snorkeling which was about 25 minutes away. The beach and pool are enough to relax and enjoy the stay. We liked having a different spot ea/day
The resort was really nice. I spent a ton of time researching resorts hoping i didnt pick a dud. I and my gf are so happy we picked this place. They treat you like a 5 star resort from start to finish. The resort is big, but what is wrong with a bit of exercise? We loved waking up and running to the gym(8 minute run or less) then spending the day between the beach and pool. We look forward to being back in August.

Upgraded to the Lindo at check in. Glad we did.

Pros: Nice grounds and pool. Activities and star friends were good.
Cons: Sercice should be constanty great. Things should be great on audit days and OK the rest. Staff liked to talk together instead of looking after guest.
Location: Shuttle to Playa was good.
Upgraded to the Lindo at check in. Happy we did as looking around at the resorts found there was a marked difference. Pools, fountains, resturants ect were just better on the Lindo side. Japanese resturant was a big let down (food OK at best). Mexican resturant was the best resturant that we went to. Service at resturants was just OK except the Mexican were it was great. On Tuesday before we left they had a survey card at dinner for the resort and it was sickining as to see everyone on the staff falling over themselves that were not like that any other time. It was the only time you did not have to ask to have your water refilled and saw the head cheffs walking around asking how the food was. We stayed at the Princess last year and found it just a bit better overall especialy for the money.

Large resort on the beach

The resort is well maintained & the staff were great and helpful 80% of the time. We've been to many all inclusive this is our 2nd in mexico and it's fine except! Only 3 out of 6 finer reserved restaurants were really good; Mediterranean, rodizio & french. They layout of resort not that great, long walks to get back and fourth. The rooms were blah! Dated. Numerous of extra charges, double check what's included. Entertainment Great! Some of the pastries were like rubber the buffet repetitive. Extremely large/nice pool, short on bars.

Everything was great except for the hair dryer, there really wasn't one, it was a vacuum that didn't really dry hair.

Such an amazing vacation

Pros: The staff was so friendly and the food was great.
Cons: The only suggestion I have would be for the hotel to add more lounge chairs by the pool.
Everything about this hotel was amazing. From the serving staff to the entertainment, I can't find one thing I can complain about. There was always something fun for all ages happening on the resort. I would definitely recommend this resort to anyone looking for a high quality, amazing vacation.

Love Iberostar !

I love this brand of hotels ! I've stayed at Paraiso Del Mar twice and I have no complaints . Everyone is very polite and friendly . Always helpful and always willing to go the extra mile . Great staff , great food , great drinks and great rooms ! Huge pools and beautiful beaches . You want all inclusive then this is the brand hotel you want to stay at .

Family Spring Break

Check in was okay, had requested early check in but still had to wait. Inquired about upgrade to Lindo only room available was a king and since we traveled with daughter would not work. We had lunch while waiting on room. Standard room was standard. Double beds not comfortable. Ants in bathroom and mold on wall by ceiling in bathroom. Didn't want them coming in spraying insecticide so didn't call about it. Besides, we weren't in room long enough. Room temperature in evening could have been cooler. Our maid service was excellent. All staff were friendly and went out of their way. Grounds were beautiful, clean and safe. Buffet food good, if you went hungry your own fault. We only received 2 ala cart dinners and both were Excellent. We had the Mediterranean and Japanese. They try relentlessly to get you to go to the special breakfast and we avoided it as we have sat through it at other resorts. Same thing. We don't go on vacation to waste time on a sales presentation. SPA is adults only. Myself and 16 yr. old daughter had massages on beach and were given certificate for wet areas of spa, but when we got there found out adults only and she was denied entry. We never used it. Service at the beach buffet was lacking. We had been trying other resort chains and hadn't been to Iberostar in a few years. Would we return, maybe.

Hotel was like reviews. Great clean facilities in some need of upgrades. Excelllent staff. Food at buffets could be better. Specialty restaurants were great

Great for a family vacation

This is the 5th time that we have stayed at this all-inclusive resort (or its twin, the Iberostar Beach). Our family obviously likes it there. The rooms are comfortable, the property is beautiful (lovely garden with a huge sprawling pool), the staff is very friendly, there's plenty to do in terms of included activities, and the food is excellent. There is also nightly evening entertainment (e.g., a magic show, or a medley of Broadway musicals), which we enjoy watching. The property is also very generous in terms of free drinks (with some guests drinking all day long). Good location 30 min away from the airport. The only downside are the reserved dinning restaurants that are always difficult to get a reservation for.
