Beautiful resort

Pros: As above. We also enjoy the "jungle walkway". Great views of some wildlife and natural vegetation.
Cons: When someone requested a king bed, they should receive it as requested.
Location: We stayed at the resort, didn't leave this time.
Beautiful resort with a great beach and pool. We were only disappointed that we had requested a king bed and had a junior suite, booked months in advance. We had 2 double beds the first 2 of 7 days, then we were given the king bed. Otherwise, everything was great. Hotel room, the staff. Beautiful beach front and pool. The food was really good.

Very nice staff, attentive. Good food at two main buffet restaurants. No so great at mexican and meat restaurants. You really can order all you can drink. Our room was to dark,it faced an internal jungle and the trees cover the whole length of the balcony and are a few in hes from the balcony wall ,preventing light from reaching the window.we had to have the lights on at all times, a little depresing when outside there is a glorous sunshining.

Great Pool, Beach, Entertainment but Not Food

Pros: Beach and Pool
Cons: Food at every restaurant
Location: 5th Avenue for the shopping for souvenir.
Stayed at this hotel 5 nights Family with kid end of August. Very beautiful beach and pool. 9 years old enjoyed jungle environment with animals. Everywhere is well maintained and cleaned. Hotel stuff is very friendly and nice. Cool towel animals each day from house keeping. We loved it. Shows at theater were great!! We watched the show every single night while we stayed. Thanks for Eduardo and Chocolate and the Team ! You guys are such a hard working people. Starting with kids show,fun game, diploma time. and music with live band (guitar player was so good at The Rock). Very professional show each night. Only negative side of this hotel is Food. No AC at Buffet...... Each food was displaced nicely and taste didn't follow...... Mexican restaurant, forget it. Not recommended. Taste better in USA. We almost got to caught to go to time share presentation. Good thing we didn't have time. If anyone ask you "We'll pick you up for breakfast" Be aware !

Beautiful hotel.

Great staff, courteous, happy, helpful. Great restaurants, beautiful beach. Very clean. Love xcarat, xplor. Dive shop on site was too expensive. $250 for 2 tank dive vs $85 in playa del carmen.

Amazing all-inclusive stay, I'll definitely return

Pros: Scenic location, great clean rooms with comfy beds, great fitness offerings, amazing spa, great food and drinks, peacocks walk around the resort!

Location: There is lots to do in Playa del Carmen including Coco Bongo (A MUST!), Selvatica (extreme adventure excursion), local shops, and of course the beach!
From the moment we arrived at the Iberostar Tucan and were handed welcome cocktails by the concierge, my boyfriend and I knew we'd made the right choice in hotel stay. This hotel had everything you could ask for in terms of comfort, range of activities, and access to facilities. The pool and beach were clean and incredibly scenic, the range of cocktails and food options were great, and so were the gym and spa. My boyfriend and I did a couples massage at the spa on our last day and it was fantastic - highly recommend you take advantage of the spa. I also took several free gym classes including pilates, zumba on the beach, and aqua fitness - all of which are fun, and a great way to break up the beach bum routine. One of the best things about this resort is that it houses two hotels - the Tucan and Queztal hotels, so the resort is essentially a shared campus with sooo much room to wander on either side, and twice as many bar options. While walking around, you'll see beautiful local wild life walking around, including peacocks, tucans, iquanas, and even a monkey or two. This resort was great! I already miss it and I plan to return and also to visit other Iberostars around the world!

Great Value.Exceptional Staff.Positive Experience

Pros: The staff, the location, and the friendly atmosphere. We loved having the ability to participate in various activities or relax by the water.
Cons: The process to reserve your dinner reservations at individual restaurants (i.e. Japanese, Steakhouse, etc.).
Location: The resort was gated but the neighborhood/community was also gated which made us feel extremely safe. Just outside the resort were shops to visit.
Overall, our stay at Iberostar Tucan was memorable in a positive way. The resort was very clean and safe. The staff especially the star team organizing the events (especially Jeffe, Antonio, & Ivan aka "Choc-o-late") made us feel so at home. The food was acceptable, the entertainment was enjoyable, the room was clean and affordable. The value for what we received was spot on. The lone room for improvement is the process for reserving dinner. I believe this was an Iberostar rule but you only get one guaranteed dinner spot for every 3 nights you stay. This means you can make one reservation but the other nights you can make a reservation that day or eat at the buffet. Every night, these restaurants were barely full so they were never booked to capacity, There is no way that many people didn't show up for their reservation. I later learned you can purchase more guaranteed spots but I didn't feel that was acceptable or necessary. The resort publicizes all the various dinner options as part of the all inclusive accommodations.

The Food was not great I'm not sure if the beef was really beef 🤔 The pool water was hotter than my coffee! I don't understand why the pool water was so hot??

Very good service, people always tried to serve. Food buffet was great, all kind of food. Ideal hotel for familiar trips, kids have many chances to have fun. Fitness center is very good. Nigth show was well designed.
