No beach. Bugs and lumpy beds.

Posted Jul 4, 2017
Lumpy beds. Holes in the sheets. Roaches on the bed. Ants on the floor. Beach was rocky. You could use a near by man made beach full of kids and sunscreen residue.

Great boutique hotel right on the beach

Posted May 26, 2017
Location: We rented a car one day and drove to Coba to see the ruins and to swim in the Ceynotes. We also drove to Tulum which was lovely - very laid back.
My husband and I stayed at Le Reve for a 5 day getaway and we really enjoyed it. The hotel is small which we love. There was never any problem getting a chair by the beach or the pool and it didn't feel crowded - unlike all the other huge resorts around us. The beach was lovely although there is quite a bit of coral in this particular part of the coast so water shoes might be a good idea. The pool was lovely and warm with a view to the beach and sea. The best part about our stay was the food and the service. We loved every meal and the waiting staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. We made a point of asking to meet the chef as we loved the food so much. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a more low key vacation close to Playa del Carmen.

Prisoner of slow food service

Posted Apr 28, 2017
We booked this hotel at the all inclusive rate so we could relax and do nothing with our two year old for four days on the beach. What we found was that even if we were the first ones to the restaurant, breakfast could take 90 minutes or more. Lunch and dinner could take longer. You can imagine what that is like with a hungry, energetic two year old. Or just for hungry adults! With no other buffet options or snacks available, we wasted a lot of beach time and pool time waiting for the wait staff in the restaurant. The hotel knows that this is a problem and blames it on a small kitchen but the slowness extended to things like bringing drinks from the bar and giving us a hot cup of coffee. I would not stay here again as there are other all inclusive hotels that far exceed this one for a similar price point.

This IS a hotel not a resort

Posted Feb 19, 2017
This is a hotel not a resort...the rooms are basic queen bed , bathroom...no chairs ,no pictures,no coffee maker,no mini fridge.. the makeup mirror , blow dryer needed repairs ... the toilet had a puddle of water behind it ...there is no shop for incidentals, you have to pay for wifi...the restaurant was slow to get a menu, slow to get coffee, slow to get food and a meal is about the size of a McDonald's breakfast (no kidding) ..The quaility of the food is edible ..the beach is bueatiful white sand until you get the the shoreline then it is all rock ..you better have some water shoes and don't fall ....u will need a car or taxi to get anywhere ... the best thing was the turtle enclosure , a.c in room and waterfall shower.....

Small resort hotel on the beach

Posted Dec 12, 2016
Pros: Proximity to the beach, and the pool. We also loved the balcony.
Cons: Rooms could be updated. Would be nice to have more signage to the approach of the resort.
My husband and I stayed at the Le Reve Resort in Playa del Carmen in December 2016 for a short vacation. The resort was very nice, though the room was a bit outdated and could use some sprucing up. The pool was beautifully maintained and we loved the proximity to the beach. If you are looking for a place to kick back on the beach, order some guac and chips and frozen drinks, this is the place. I liked that it was a smaller resort, and wasn't too overcrowded or touristy. We arrived at nighttime and the approach in the dark was a little confusing, however once we were situated we were welcomed warmly. The food was ok - not spectacular - but they did help accommodate with vegetarian food for me. Overall, we had a lovely time and I would return.

Beautiful hotel off the beaten path

Posted Sep 11, 2016 on Hotels
We stayed one evening on our way back from Mahahual in the southern Yucatan. The hotel and room were lovely, perfect for a day or two stay. For a longer stay, we would have liked to be able to walk into town, which was just a bit too far out with this location.

Okay, but expensive

Posted Aug 29, 2016 on Hotels
I really wanted to rate this place a lot higher than I did. The service was very good and the overall atmosphere is great. Unfortunately, its too expensive for the condition of the facilities. The room was not sealed very well, we had little lizards, ants and mosquitoes. It did not ruin it, but for the price of the room it was disappointing. We had an ocean view room with a plunge pool, which was definitely amazing. The plunge pool was much bigger than I expected so that was good, and the beach was relatively quiet, it is a bit rocky but natural. The main pool area was really enjoyable, however the pool needs to be refinished and the paint came off and ruined my husbands new swim trunks. The drinks were okay, but not much alcohol (we were not on the all-inclusive plan so this was disappointing). The food was decent.

Quiet area, private and beautiful view.

Posted Aug 8, 2016
Cons: Food, please dont serve italian... we are in mexico. we want mexican food. more tropical fruits and traditional mexican dishes please.
Location: location is awesome, far from the main road, but amazing views and right on the beach.
We stayed for 5 days with a garden view. It was the best vacation! Things we liked: -we had all inclusive so we had unlimited drinks alcohol and food -nice pool area with chairs etc. -flexibility of having lunch by the pool, restaurant or beach -room design -very close to the beach like two steps basically -nice bar staff always bringing us tequilla shots ha ha Things we didn't like: -although food was unlimited, it wasn't the best ever, I had better food in other hotels in mexico (need more fruits and healthy stuff) -the room service sucked, we had to ask them to clean it. -internet wifi even though we had to pay for it it still wasn't great OVERALL - AWESOME.
