Tropical paradise lacking good experiencePosted Mar 17, 2018
Cons: Make COMMENT CARDS accessible so that you can make immediate commendations for guest DURING their stay! This shows real concern for their experience.
Location: I will return to Mexico if just to bring back family and friends to experience Xplor and XelHa! America's adventure parks do not come close. Excellent
PROs: Great if you prefer the quaint tropical resort of sand, palms and bird's song! I do! Plenty of lounge chairs. Nice bungalows w/ cotton sheets and bedding and 5x magnification vanity mirror. Close proximity to water. Hammocks. Massages at beach (reserve Claudia!) Good AC, hot water, safe, fan, lights, fridge. Eager to serve staff. Clean pool. Fresh squeezed OJ, eggs benedict and pastry every morning. Game room of pool, ping-pong and foozball. CONs: The food, cocktails, music and language barriers. These things will keep me from returning : ( The FOOD was a daily disappointment! If you are a foodie this is NOT the place for you. The quality of food, preparation and ingredients was lacking. Six nights in a row, the desserts were FLAN and TASTELESS mini cakes. I am used to handcrafted cocktails, so they dissapointed me as well. The language barrier from most of the sweet staff was frustrating. I was repeatedly unsure if they understood me. The nightly choice of the mexican staff's own personal music choices through poor quality speakers was hard on this music lover. Notice that FOOD is not available as part of Expedia's review.

Garden View Bungalows close to beachPosted Feb 25, 2018
Pros: Location, beach, STAFF, food, laid back feel, quiet sleep.
Cons: The built-in drawers had a musty smell, so we did no put our clothes in there.
Location: Playa 15 minutes, Cenotes, 1 hour to Tulum, 2 hours to Coba (must see this). Ferry in Playa to Cozumel (we did Bar-Hop tour of East Side, excellent!)
We stayed in a Garden View Bungalow with 2 double beds and 1 single bed in loft above bathroom. The bungalows have a rustic feel with dark wood interior, and tile floors. The 2 double beds were comfortable and the air conditioning worked great. We had a small table with 2 chairs, safe, built-in drawers, and open close bar. The bathroom was small but worked well for the 2 of us. We liked that we had our own small house to stay in with front porch for sitting, and it was very quiet for sleeping. It was a short walk to a beautiful white sand beach. There is also a pool that was very clean, In fact they have a crew of people keeping the place clean, gardens raked. No problem getting loungers at beach or pool. If you want a palapa, go early to reserve. If you don't get a palapa, you can ask them to provide an umbrella which they will dig into the sand for you. There is shade to be found anytime of day. The food at the restaurant and bar was excellent with menus changing daily. The bar and bartenders were excellent and can make any drink. The best margaritas! Not the sweet fake ones you get elsewhere. The staff were so friendly, helpful, and funny and truly made our stay special. If you want to go to Playa del Carmen, it is a 15 minute cab ride (approx. $17), or 1.25 hr walk down the beach. If you need a rental car, they will arrange one to be delivered and picked up at the hotel (approx. $65 per day). Also, there is a wildlife sanctuary beside the resort.

Nice property right on the beachPosted Feb 18, 2018
Loved this place. A small hotel and some cabins, beach bar and pool. Very clean with the most pleasant staff ive had the pleasure of being pampered by. Food was good; we liked the fact that breakfast and dinner were included. Going back next year.

Best vacation everPosted Feb 12, 2018
Location: Make sure to try Coco Cabana's Pizzeria nearby
This was my first trip to Mexico with my friends and family. 3 couples stayed in the bungalows (garden views and oceanview) and 2 couples stayed in the main hotel and had oceanview rooms. We all loved the hotel and accommodations. My sister is blind and we found that the hotel staff went out of their way to be helpful. The beach was great - lots to do including parasailing, seadooing and massages. My brothers stayed in the bungalow by the little zoo and were woken up by a rooster every morning but that was the only negative thing they had to say. We plan on returning again next year:)

Great little place on the beachPosted Feb 10, 2018
Pros: The personal touch by the hotel staff. The cleanliness of the place. The quietness and no crowds, especially on the beach.
Location: The location is somewhat away from the noisy bustle of the city which we found great and right on the beach.
we had a wonderful experience. It's a quiet & relaxing place to visit.

King bed oceanview.Posted Jan 21, 2018
The room clean and coffee maker was nice to have in the morning. Bed was too hard. Staff excellent. Pool to cold to swim due to weather. Breakfast good. Owners band really good on Thursday nights. Bar serves good food for lunch. My rate included B,D. no drinks. Nice quiet hotel North of Playa del Carmen. I really liked the fact off the 5th Ave. hussle.

Nice hotel on beach, great food, excellent staffPosted Jan 3, 2018
Pros: - The waiting staff are unique, excellent: they make the hotel - Food is very good - Ambience is intimate, familiar, pleasant
Cons: - The beach has many algae - Check in / out could be more cordial - Ingredients of ice-cream in store are not indicated correctly on label
Location: - Tulum has a great beach - Many attractions are close by: Chichen Itza, many cenotes - Playa del Carmen is convenient for any errands
Very nice escapade in a strategic location to visit attractions in the área. Fantastic wait staff. Beach pleasant, but not really accesible for swimming.

Good location. Small but very well kept and cozy resort. Meals were good and decent for vegetarian folks.
