we got no wake up call on our last day , as requested. confusion when leaving, make check out smoother. room service always got our order wrong.

Nice Hotel

The staff were very nice. My husband and I had a great time at this Hotel. The food was really good and we met so many couples that they keep coming back to that hotel. I highly recommend it.

10 year anniversary trip

Pros: The personal concierge, the signature fragrance in the lobby, the excellent service.
Cons: The menus often had MANY typos. I understand they are probably translated but you would think spell check would have caught several of those mistakes.
Location: We did not venture off property. The resort provides water sports and can book excursions for you.
We returned to the Royal Hideaway resort for our 10 year anniversary. Even though the resort is under new ownership the same fantastic facilities, service and food are still there. The food was delicious. We were overly impressed with the Grille. We preferred Spices sit down breakfast over the buffet breakfast. Azia was great although i would have preferred a private table or private room instead of watching the Hibachi show (it is the same thing every hibachi restaurant does). However, the food was excellent. Las Ventanas was great with a pianist. Excellent food and service. We enjoyed using the pools not closest to the ocean. We often were the only ones there I suppose because there was no drink service there. But I was perfectly capable of walking to the pool bar, getting a drink and then enjoying it alone with my husband. We got a double kayak on the water on day. A lot of fun and free and easy to rent. The beach is public so people can approach you to sell you things however they were always polite and moved on quickly. Spa services were excellent! Didn't make it to the french restaurant or for high tea in the afternoons. We'll just have to go back! Highly recommend!!!

Best All-Inclusive romantic get away so far!

Pros: Food, premium liquor, grounds, service.
Cons: More activities for couples.
Location: We went to Tulum and Xplor park while on our stay. But the hotel is within Playacar community and right outside of hotel there are local gift shops.
After reading tons of reviews on several options my bf and I decided to go to RHA for 5 days to celebrate our anniversary. I have been to 3 other resort and so far this one is the best for couples! If you're single and looking to mingle, this isnt for you. However, if you're a couple and looking for a romantic quality vacation, this is it! This hotel is only 200 rooms, smallest ive ever been, however its perfect for an escape! The grounds are beautifully surrounded by waterfalls, the architecture of main buildings reminded me of Spanish villas. There were 2 main pools and several "hide away" pools on the property for little one-on-one time. Alchocol options were top shelf, first place I've been to where Patron and Baileys were free entire trip! Food here was great also, I love fruit, so morning fruit baffet made my day!!!! With several restaurant options, international cuisine Las Ventanas was the best! Our server Jorge was wonderful and I felt that I was getting a 5 star restaurant experience. Nightly shows were okay, but the dinner & show experience was fun. Thre is not much going on there after 11pm, so do keep in mind in case you like to party later. My suggestion: at least one night make a late dinner reservation 9-10pm, & close your night in the main pool. You will not forget it! We only did it on our last night but wow, staying in the warm pool watching sunset and then swimming under the moon night was by far my favorite time!

Beautiful "Adult Only" Resort

Pros: the food
Cons: concierge we had was not always available.
Exactly what we were looking for in our stay in Mexico. Gorgeous Beach/ beautiful pool. Rooms are really nice and it is extremely quiet and romantic. Not your average Mexico stay. If you want relaxation and romantic time ...this is the place! And the food....it is top notch!! It is an all inclusive and you would never know it. The only buffet is the breakfast and you can still order things you want. It is absolutely the best food we ever had in any all inclusive. I would go back just for the food....but the beach is to die for. Love love love this place and would definitely recommend.

Geat location, requires refurbishment, staff OK

Pros: Beach location, beach cleanliness, kid-free, all inclusive, alcohol choice, WiFi, watersports, bar/restaurant/cleaning staff
Cons: Refurbishment of hotel / rooms, sun-bed reservation process, restaurant reservation process, number of bars open in the evening, entertainment
Location: Near-by activities we thought were great included: chichen itza, jungle maya, xplor, cirque du soleil, catamaran trip, dolphin discovery
My wife and I just returned from 10 nights during August 2017. Positives: Great beach location, clean beach, no kids (some "adult only" hotels we've stayed in allow kids), bar/restaurant staff are extremely helpful, all alcohol is included in the all-inclusive (premium brands not excluded), fast WiFi with good coverage, free hobie catamarans for use by customers for 1 hour a day. Average Areas: Room (they in need of refurbishing, as does the whole hotel), food quality/selection, amenities, swimming pool (no swim up bar). Negatives: Must make reservations for all restaurants (we arrived after 5pm and they couldn't fit us in for our first night!), concierge service (possibly just our luck of the draw but he failed to book restaurants for us and even booked us in to one which was closed for our final night), very quiet in the evenings (only 1 small bar open in the evenings and there's limited entertainment), check-out experience (they tried to charge us for an activity we had booked and subsequently cancelled, leading to a very stressful check-out experience), check-in experience (they tried to put us into a dark ground floor room even though they had plenty of space in first floor rooms - subsequently, we heard the ground floor rooms flooded when we were hit by heavy rain), sun-bed reservation process (people get up before 7am and reserve sun-beds with a book or a flip flop, in other hotels they remove towels if not used after an hour - this ensures no hogging without use)
