Budget honeymoon

Friendly attentive staff. Very clean. Great safe location in a gated community but a short walk or even shorter taxi ride to downtown playa del Carmen. Resort was a good size to avoid huge crowds. They had us in the wrong room type, offered to fix it in two days when the correct room was available but we decided to stay for the location. Nice beach. Only complaints were personal preferences such as Beds a little too hard, drinks weak, buffet food for a vegetarian got boring fast and the hotels excursion coordinator was not attentive and offered wrong information instead of looking up the correct information. The rest of the hotel staff were amazing.

Great family hotel. The entartaimemt staff was amazing so friendly.. they really make you feel comfortable and are amazing with the kids.. the food could be a little better. Also the one thing that I didn't like Is that they don't refill your mini fridge.. they fill it the first day only after that you're on your own with the drinks.. all the alcoholic drinks are so watered down it's horrible.

Don't waste your money!

When we arrived they they told me my room booked 6 months ago wasn't available. Finally after insisting we were staying there they found us a room. Our garden view was a tree growing into our tiny balcony. Rooms outdated and musty. Mildew in showers. Stairs falling apart. Someone entered our room while we were out and over flowed our toilet. Never enough towels left. FOOD IS AWFUL EVERYWHERE but Italian. Staff pleasant and nightly entertainment was good.

Nice hotel

Pros: The beach, the service, the staff, and the privacy of the hotel.
Cons: More nighttime activities.food room service could be nice.
Location: The hotel was right on the beach, and only a 5-10 minute drive from the 5th Avenue, which is where there are shops, and even a Walmart!
Excellent experience, the staff was friendly, room was clean and the hotel was close to the beach. The food that was served in the buffet was good, they have specific nights where they serve Italian, Chinese, Mexican, etc. we would definitely return here again! We were very surprised, we were expecting much less. Viva Wynham Maya, which is the sister hotel, was easily twice as big and twice as many people. Viva Wyndham Azteca was more private and quiet. For Mexican food, we would recommend going to viva Wyndham maya since they have a Mexican restaurant.

Loved Our Stay in Paradise

This was our first all-inclusive Resort experience, and our first time in Cancun. My family loved it! The vibe, the staff, the food, the drinks, the place- all very family friendly!! Such a relaxing vacation! We were moved from Viva Wyndham Azteca to Viva Wyndham Maya because the first Resort was full and we didn't want to wait for 3pm for our room (we got there at 8am from a red eye flight!) We thought it was an upgrade for us, but when we checked out, staff was very apologetic for the "inconvenience" they have caused us, thus, they gave us $200 USD shopping money at their gift shop to compensate for the hassle! Such a sweet treat overall!!

35th anniversary.

We had a little bit of a slow start. The fellow that drove us from the airport didn't know where our resort was. He didn't speak english & we didn't speak spanish. He had to stop twice & ask for directions. It took 2 hours instead of 45 minutes. Everyone at the resort was very nice. The only thing i wish the room would of had a ceiling fan, you can't adjust the temp. And there was no washcloth's which i thought was strange. No tissues, to take off make-up? Only 90 peso's to take a cab to 5th avenue for a full day of shopping. The mini frig is stocked with1 Pepsi,1 diet,1 7up,1 water &1 sodawater. They never replenish it, it states that in a note on the frig.

Horrible service. $50 to do 1 load of laundry. Charge you more than sticker price in their store. Cannot drink in the pool. Cannot make reservations on the phone. No bueno.
