Old hotel in need of refurb

The staff at the hotel were pleasant. The rooms were very clean but unfortunately the wall paper is peeling, carpets are old and this hotel needs a good refurb.

Dear Coco, Thank you for your review of our hotel after your recent stay. We sincerely appreciate your lovely comments on our pleasant staff and our standards of cleanliness. However, please accept our apology for any disappointment with our current standards of decor in some areas. We are very aware of these current shortcomings but I am delighted to be able to assure you that we are attending to these aspects of our business with an ongoing refurbishment plan which will address all areas of the hotel by the end of this year. We are currently replacing our in-room seating furniture which will be completed this week, we are completing each room's wall decoration at a pace of two rooms per week at the moment and we will begin a number of public space refurbishments on 11 September. I have no doubt that all areas of our hotel will be markedly improved as the next few months unfold and I hope that you will visit us again in the future when I have no doubt you will see these improvements as they are completed. Ideal location

Pros: Location, location and location.
Cons: Air conditioning is not provided.
Location: Pubs, clubs , restaurants and shops are all within walking distance. Beautiful sea front is about a mile away and can be reached by walking.
Pleasant stay . Staff were very pleasant. Room was cleaned daily. Clean towels were provided daily. Efficient staff in all departments , front desk, bar/lounge and cleaning staff.

Hotel location

Pros: Good location and good restaurant and bars facilities.
Cons: Nothing. Nothing but our bedroom 337 in need of some repair work in the bathroom
Location: Location close to centre of Plymouth and the shops and seafront
Hotel in convenient location within walking of shops and sea front. Also free car parking for residents within the hotel.

Perfect Location

Pros: Professional staff,excellent room with all amenities,great location for station,town and football ground.
Hotel was only a five minute walk from the station and close to the town centre.Nice walk through the park to the football ground. Hotel was first class and i would recomend people to stay there.

Hotel fairly central

Pros: The hotel staff are friendly and efficient.
Cons: The hotel needs modernising.
Location: The location of the hotel is fairly central to all the interesting places to visit in Plymouth.
This hotel looks tired and needs updating. Reception is on the first floor. The room was disappointing, small, again needs updating, no air con just a fan light that looked unsafe when turned on. No free Wifi, surprising in this day and age. Breakfast staff were very friendly and efficient but the breakfast itself was under cooked and barely warm.

Perfectly situated

We found this hotel to be clean, helpful staff and a decent sized room. Quite happy. We didn't have breakfast so can't comment on that but certainly no complaints.

Very tired

This hotel is in desperate need of a refurb - the decor is very dated (70's). There isn't air conditioning in the rooms - it was 16 degree when we stayed and the room was very stuffy even with the windows open.

Unfortunately, this will not include the insertion of airconditioning as the building design does not allow for this. We are however replacing the current ceiling fans with a more modern version which will be more effective. Pros: Location, cleanliness and friendliness of staff.
Cons: Air Con would be nice but the room did have a ceiling fan and, another desk top fan.
Location: One minute walk and you are in the city centre - a wide variety of things to do and see in Plymouth.
The room was very comfortable and very clean and quiet. . Staff very friendly. Great location and own parking which was a bonus. convenient. Centre of Plymouth very easy to walk to as well as the Barbican area - in fact all areas of shopping and tourism close.
