Charming place and host

Posted Aug 26, 2015 on Hotels
I had a lovely stay at the glen house. From the greeting when I arrived in the front hallway to my departure the next morning after a delicious breakfast. It was great to be able to walk down the hill to the center of town and have a great dinner. My only issue was with the lack of individual room temperature control. Inn wide is set at 72, but I prefer a cooler 68 for sleeping. As a result my room felt warm and a bit stuffy as I could not open windows. Otherwise everything about the man is delightful.

Roberta, Thanks so much for taking the time to share your Glynn House Inn experience with other travelers. Guests routinely comment on our gourmet breakfasts, which served at individual tables in the Inn's Victorian dining room. We're delighted you enjoyed yours too. Our location, in the heart of New Hampshire's spectacular White Mountains and Lakes Regions, provides the perfect setting for outdoor recreation, romance and relaxation. Dining options are plentiful too, including the Common Man Restaurant, which is about five minutes walk from the Inn. Wish you'd told us that you wanted your room to be a bit cooler. We would have been pleased to lower the temperature. Hope we'll have an opportunity to host you again. All the best, Glenn & family

Awesome family-run B & B.

Posted Aug 25, 2015 on Hotels
Awesome family-run b&b. Extremely accommodating to the point where they adjusted ingredients to accommodate dietary restrictions. Homemade breakfasts were excellent. Knowledgeable advise about the area and its attractions. Clean and neat facilities. If you enjoy personalized service, this is a bed and breakfast worth visiting.

Dear Allan, Thanks so much for sharing your Glynn House Inn experience with others. Our kitchen is always pleased to accommodate dietary restrictions. You let us know when you reserved your room. We're also able to recommend a dozen plus local restaurants that provide great food for those on special diets too. The difference between a terrific travel experience and a routine one is personalized service. Every visitor arrives with different expectations and requirements. We always do everything possible to help ensure that our guests have an exceptional stay at the Inn, and experience those aspects of the local area that would be of greatest individual interest. Clean and neat facilities should be a 'given'. We're proud of our housekeeping team. They do a great job. Thanks for noticing. All the best, Glenn & family

Pros: The innkeeper.
Location: Lake region in New Hampshire. Many water recreational activities nearby at Squam Lake and New Found Lake. Great hiking and biking trails.
Welcolming and attentive innkeeper who gave us excellent recommendations for local dining spots. Beautiful and comfortable room, and delicious breakfast. Considerate of our early check-out schedule. Quiet and picturesque location.

The reviewer used the Glynn House Inn as a base for a local camp pick-up. The local area is home to about 20 terrific summer camps. We're delighted you appreciate the decor in your guest room. Each room is delightfully different. Parents picking up children at camp, like other visitors, periodically require an early breakfast. We're always pleased to provide a pleasant continental breakfast from 7.30 am. Our multi course, hot, gourmet breakfasts are served between 8.30 and 9.30am. Gluten free options - with prior notice - are always available. Thanks too for mentioning our picturesque location. Our Victorian home is situated in the geographic center of New Hampshire. Spectacular scenery, a host of recreation options and great dining options are readily available. All the best, Glenn & family

Book it!

Superb place to stay if you're in the area. Quiet, comfortable, beautiful/well appointed house and wonderful hosts. Dinner at Common Man (a very short walk away) was nice too. Turkey pot pie isn't super summery, but it is super tasty.

Dan, thanks for taking the time to share your experience with other travelers. You're not the first to mention the tranquility of the Inn and local area. Our corner of New Hampshire is truly a great place for relaxation. We're pleased you enjoyed our Victorian Inn too. We do our best to provide elegant & comfortable decor and furnishings. Dining is an important part of life and travel for most people. We're fortunate to be within easy reach of a dozen good restaurants including the Common Man, which is a five minute walk from the Inn. Thoroughly recommend !

Excellent hotel - totally recommend! The owners take real pride and add so many personal touches to make you feel at home and welcome! From wine and crackers to the most fabulous home made muffins, a total A*** from us.

We're particularly pleased to receive a five star "Thoroughly Recommend" review from Michael. Royal Navy Admirals, the reviewers former role, set high standards. Personal touches - whether wine, cheese & crackers or something else - are what set apart first rate experiences from those that are merely good. Thanks so much for sharing your experience with other Michael. Our "fabulous home made muffins" will be available when the two of you return.

Weekend Getaway

Posted Jul 26, 2015 on Hotels
We were greeted by the host, Glenn, immediately on arrival and given an overview of the house and its amenities. The room was beautiful and clean. We were surprised to find that the private bathroom was in the room (not in it's own room). A little odd, but okay. The 24-hour access to the kitchen with tea/coffee, ice, water was really nice. The porches were great and they always had some snacks available for all the guests to help themselves. Local restaurant menus were readily available and Glenn jumped to make reservations for us whenever we wanted them. He also helped us to plan our final day in the area with good suggestions and helpful information. This location is perfect if you're going to the NH Speedway. It's easy to get in and out without alot of traffic.

The NH Speedway in Loudon hosts two NASCAR races each season. The Glynn House is situated about 35 minutes north of the racetrack. Our race enthusiast guests are able to avoid the bulk of the traffic, which comes from the densely populated south. Our wraparound porches provide a great warm weather setting for relaxation, reading, engaging with other guests and / or enjoying a complimentary glass of wine (or two) and cheese & crackers each evening. Our information cupboard includes maps, brochures, guidebooks and games. The menu basket provides comprehensive collection of local menus - 30 + at last count. Even the most luxurious 19th century Victorian only had one bathroom. Today, our Inn has 14. But, layout required compromises so two of our bedrooms have shower facilities situated in the bedroom. Photos accurately reveal room layout or ask the innkeepers before booking. Thanks so much for sharing your experience with others. All the best, Glenn & family

Excellent Bed & Breakfast in Ashland, NH

Posted Jun 10, 2015
Pros: Personal professional attention, peaceful surroundings, house interior.
Location: Squam Lake ("On Golden Pond"), Sandwich, Conway's 1890 covered bridge
My wife and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary at the Glynn House in May. We received excellent professional yet personal service from Glenn - just as we had expected. The Glynn House resides in an unassuming street and is filled with wonderful wood finishes and floors. Each room has a unique charm, and the parlor and study and dining rooms all invite you in to relax and take in the calm of the day. Breakfast was wonderful (several choices) and we received more tips for exploring the neighboring areas before we sadly had to leave. We will be happy to return some day.

Our thanks to the couple from Yorba, California who've taken the time to share their Glynn House Inn experience with others. There closing sentences are heard quite frequently - "We sadly had to leave. We will be happy to return some day". Visitors could easily spend a fortnight. Those on a tight schedule should try to allocate four days. The scenic beauty is dazzling. The number and variety of activities is dazzling. The Inn includes two 1895 Victorian buildings. Each have beautiful wood finishes and floors. Decor and layout of each room is different During the cooler months, visitors enjoy romantic fireplaces. Double whirlpool baths are available in six suites and one bedroom. Wraparound porches provide tranquil place to relax during the warmer months. We look forward to seeing you again. Warm, cozy and extremely comfortable!

Very clean, warm and cozy. We stayed in the Hoover Room and our bed and pillows were very comfortable!!! Private bath, tea/coffee, water and cold drinks available all day at your disposal. Ooooooh......and the breakfast was awesome! Fresh fruit, warm homemade muffin, juice, coffee and your choice of waffles, eggs, pancakes, french toast...but not just your ordinary, a little something special with each one. We will definitely recommend this B&B and if we are visiting in this part of NH we will be back. Pam and Glynn were the best!

Pamela - thanks for sharing your experience with other travelers. Our Hoover Bedroom is our smallest - beautifully decorated, lovely bathroom and every contemporary amenity. It's perfect for solo travelers and guests staying one or two evenings and not traveling with large quantities of luggage. We're pleased Pamela enjoyed her stay. Our breakfast menu contains 12 entree choice complimented with fresh fruit, juices, freshly baked muffins and lots of delicious hot coffee or tea. We're delighted Pamela thought it was "awesome". We try! Other Inn amenities include complimentary soft drinks, teas and coffee. Our DVD library currently has about 350 titles. Guests receive discounts for many local activities and attractions too. We look forward to seeing you again. All the best, Glenn & family

The Glynn House is ideally situated for those who want the 'perfect get-a-way. We're delighted that Sylvia, who also resides in New Hampshire, enjoyed her visit to NH's Lakes Region. Fireplaces - installed of 12 of our 13 guest rooms - are always popular during the cooler months. They provide just the right romantic touch. We're pleased that Sylvia and her partner enjoyed our multi-course, gourmet breakfast too. All the best, Glenn & family
