Close to beach, staff very friendly and approachab

Stayed here for a week and would definitely go back. Hotel/room cleanliness was excellent. Close to beach and metro and within walking distance of la rambla area.

Worn out hotel

The hotel has an ok location , but it can not be rated 4 stars , it has really worn out towels and no tissue paper .

A Disappointing Experience Based on Presentation

My wife and I were on our honeymoon and we were genuinely excited to be staying at the Hotel 4, which is nice and close to the beaches and Poblenou districts. The hotel, however, was disappointing. When the bed was advertised as a double, we did not realize this meant putting two twin beds together which was very uncomfortable for us with a gap between the mattresses. The wireless internet advertised had an extremely weak signal and I was forced to view the internet from our bathroom where there was (sadly) the strongest signal. We also were not impressed by the staff who did not go out of their way to clearly welcome you and address your questions. A little stand-offish. Finally, the breakfast and gym require a payment. Be aware of this before booking. Although in a nice location, the place itself was only "OK".

Good locations

This hotel is close to the beach and metro, apart from the location though there is not much else going for the hotel. The bathrooms are dated. There is a complete lack of facilities when you are expecting a 4 star hotel - for example, no pool, the smallest restaurant and a very small selection for breakfast.

nice hotel if you want to be close to the beach.

I booked this holiday through Expedia. I would usually book holidays online but decided to book thiamine over the phone because I was booking for a group of 13 people. Expedia basically messed up my booking. They put the booking of 13 people through as 4 separate bookings and they mixed up the information about which member of our group sharing with one another so the hotel had the wrong information. The hotel staff tried to sort it out but wanted to charge us €15 per night to correct Expedia's mistake and put the members of my group in the room we thought we had booked. The hotel staff called Expedia and got through to someone, after a long time, and Expedia couldn't deal with my complaint because the hotel staff had called Expedia America who can't, apparently deal with European bookings! In the end, people from my group swapped room between them. One of the room's door didn't lock. This was sorted promptly. One of the room's bath's grout was in a sorry state. The hotel is generally clean and convienient for the beach but if you want access to the city, I'd stay elsewhere. The gym is small and has the basic machines. At breakfast, there wasn't a large selection on offer but I guess it's ok for a city hotel.

Nice Hotel, easy walk to the beach.

Pros: Convenience! Very good room A/C
Cons: Not much...
Location: You are closer to the beach than downtown, but the metro will get you anywhere you wish to go quickly.
The front desk was very helpful. The breakfast was very good, and I had dinner in the hotel restaurant several times with good results. The beach is an easy walk, but bicycles are available for rent if you wish to get to the beach quickly. The Metro stop is 3 blocks away, and gets you to downtown in about 15 minutes.

Quiet location close to great areas

I will look no more in Barcelona when We come back , this Hotel has everything close by and its also in a good area . Beach within 5 minute walk great restaurants within 5 minutes also .

Basic hotel very close to the beach

The hotel is a ten min walk from a really nice beach. This would be the main reason for using it. The rooms are nice but weren't cleaned properly. We had sand on the floor throughout our stay and the last day the used teabags/coffee packets weren't thrown away and out bath mat wasn't replaced. The beds were very comfortable and out room was a good size. Breakfast was terrible, the scrambled egg was sweet, the cereal was chewy, milk was warm, the bread rolls were rock hard. Luckily I only had it on the last morning. The fitness room was quite small and the only time I used it all the machines but one were switched off and the air con was off. You also have to pay extra to use it. Overall the hotel is ok, if you just want a base to go to the beach it's ideally located. It's also only a short walk to the metro and about 10euro taxi from the centre.

15euros per day to park. Close to beach otherwise Location just ok.
