Historic Hotel in Poconos

Pros: Location..and beautiful archetechture.
Cons: Rooms are a bit shabby. Need to upgrade.
Location: Beautiful location. Lots of activities..golf, horseback riding, hiking.

Quiet.

The quiet atmosphere was wonderful, such a lovely surprise. Slept with the windows open. Evening meal was ordina-ry, eat off-.site if looking for something special. Breakfast buffet was very nice. Would go again.

It Was Too Late to Go Somewhere Else

Pros: The WiFi worked and the wooded surroundings were nice. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast buffet was good but not included.
Cons: A meticulous cleaning and maintenance Fix the AC, upgrade electric service
Location: It's on a golf course and there is always hiking in the woods.
I traveled to this hotel the night before a tournament near by in hopes of getting a good sleep... that did not happen. I should have seen the sign when 6 large flies were struggling to escape from the hallway window. They undoubtedly entered through the ripped screens of windows that had to be open because the air conditioning wasn't working. When I got to my room it was 90 degrees even though it was in the 70's outside. Repeated calls got maintenance to my room but they could not get anything more than a trickle of cool air from the vent. The office provided me with a fan so I could get to sleep. The flat screen TV looked out of place in the aged surrounding. It received basic cable but the picture was always fuzzy and sometimes it just disappeared. The paint and furniture were old, carpets dirty and when someone walked down the hallway, the walls shook. I couldn't plug in my laptop because the room didn't have the standard three prong grounded receptacles. The fact that there was no elevator in my building wouldn't have been too bad being as it was only two floors but combined with the lack of AC, it just added to my irritation. The ice machine on the other floor worked but the drink machine was completely empty If I had gotten some big bargain on the rate, I might have expected some shortcomings but I could have stayed at any other hotel for what I paid and in hind sight, I wish that I had.

Pros: not much
Cons: don't rob people charge them extra money
Location: hotel way out in the woods very hard to find at night.
Don't under stand whyi was charged 50bucks when I paid for hotel

Room Outdated

The room was outdated and unimpressive. We had many bugs in the room, likely due to the resorts location. The beds were hard and uncomfortable and finding a place to park was a nightmare.

Promising but fell flat.

I understand the hotel is old, the dirty I don't get. Upon checking in, first is the musty smell, then the toilet had urine in it for starters. The baseboards looked like they hadn't been wiped down in months, nor the window sills. The breakfast was really good but pricey. The pizza was good too. The game room with billiards and ping pong was nice, but the equipment was broken or run down. The pool was fine. Activity anenities are really nice. Don't bother with waterfall trust me. The other guests were atriciously noisy beyond anything I've ever heard. Kids were rude, people slamming doors....you can hear everything through the doors...and I mean everything. Awkward moments....i was there with kids. In morning, hotel staff frantic as the health inspector was there and wanted to talk to manager. We were only there 2 nights, so we were ok. Much longer, I'd have to move. Maybe other parts are better. If try again, but didn't leave a great first impression.

Pros: Staff was nice . We came to play golf. The course was great with very reasonable rates.
Cons: virtually everything
Location: Kalahari waterpark very close
One restaurant with mediocre food. Many of the entrees notavailable. No heat in the room They supplied us with a portable heater. No fan in the bathroom Furniture from the cold war Breakfast was awful with no omlets cold scramble eggs and terrible meats.

Our Stay At Pocono Manor

Pros: The grounds were lovely and the atmosphere was peaceful, especially in the evening. The staff were polite and helpful. The food was good.
Cons: The resort needs an overall update.
Location: We dined at a nearby restaurant. Mt Airy Casino was just minutes away. We went there for their buffet dinner and an evening of slots play.
The hotel was dated. The bathroom had the odor of a sour rag. I would not shower there. The carpets were stained. A few of the game room machines were broken or not operating properly. The pool tables and equipment need to be replaced. The outdoor grounds were lovely and nicely maintained. The outdoor pool looked nice but had no shelter from the harsh sun. The indoor pool was okay. The food was good and all staff were polite and helpful. The buildings themselves were in good shape. I would stay there again and would also recommend the place, but with a heads up to the shortcomings. The resort needs a serious update.
