Promising but fell flat.

Posted Sep 17, 2017
I understand the hotel is old, the dirty I don't get. Upon checking in, first is the musty smell, then the toilet had urine in it for starters. The baseboards looked like they hadn't been wiped down in months, nor the window sills. The breakfast was really good but pricey. The pizza was good too. The game room with billiards and ping pong was nice, but the equipment was broken or run down. The pool was fine. Activity anenities are really nice. Don't bother with waterfall trust me. The other guests were atriciously noisy beyond anything I've ever heard. Kids were rude, people slamming doors....you can hear everything through the doors...and I mean everything. Awkward moments....i was there with kids. In morning, hotel staff frantic as the health inspector was there and wanted to talk to manager. We were only there 2 nights, so we were ok. Much longer, I'd have to move. Maybe other parts are better. If try again, but didn't leave a great first impression.

Pros: Staff was nice . We came to play golf. The course was great with very reasonable rates.
Cons: virtually everything
Location: Kalahari waterpark very close
One restaurant with mediocre food. Many of the entrees notavailable. No heat in the room They supplied us with a portable heater. No fan in the bathroom Furniture from the cold war Breakfast was awful with no omlets cold scramble eggs and terrible meats.

Our Stay At Pocono Manor

Posted Sep 12, 2017
Pros: The grounds were lovely and the atmosphere was peaceful, especially in the evening. The staff were polite and helpful. The food was good.
Cons: The resort needs an overall update.
Location: We dined at a nearby restaurant. Mt Airy Casino was just minutes away. We went there for their buffet dinner and an evening of slots play.
The hotel was dated. The bathroom had the odor of a sour rag. I would not shower there. The carpets were stained. A few of the game room machines were broken or not operating properly. The pool tables and equipment need to be replaced. The outdoor grounds were lovely and nicely maintained. The outdoor pool looked nice but had no shelter from the harsh sun. The indoor pool was okay. The food was good and all staff were polite and helpful. The buildings themselves were in good shape. I would stay there again and would also recommend the place, but with a heads up to the shortcomings. The resort needs a serious update.

DISGUSTING!!!

Posted Sep 9, 2017
Pros: The front desk staff.
Cons: Housekeeping, carpet cleaning, eleveator odor.
Location: Kalahari indoor water park.
This was our first time visiting the pocono mountains and we were very excited. We were going to spend a day at the kalahari indoor water park and decided to stay at the pocono manor resort. The staff was wonderful and very accommodating. The young lady at the front desk advised since we came an hour early she was going to give us a complimentary upgrade to a mountain view room. We entered the elevator and it smelled. Ok, no big deal. We entered our room and thought nice and cozy. We ordered pizza and had a fun family night. We all went to bed despite the running and slamming of doors and the next morning to my horror I pulled back the sheets and saw blood stained sheets at the bottom of my feet and I quickly thought it was me due to me being pregnant BUT it wasn't me. The sheets were just stained and to think housekeeping felt ok with putting that on the bed is crazy! And they didn't have fitted sheets, just flat sheets. Smh! I was so disgusted I went to take a shower and pulled back the curtain to find a used wash cloth still hanging there crumbled up. I quickly took a shower and even though check out time was 11am we checked out at 9am.

Quaint lodge with a lot of character

Posted Sep 7, 2017
This is a charming little lodge that was built by Pennsylvania Quakers in 1902. I booked a solo trip here to escape the hustle and bustle of the big city and do a little writing. The quaint ambiance of this lodge provided just what I needed. I stayed in a room in the main building, which included a king size bed and a writer's table facing the window. The room was comfortable and clean. Aside from my room, I found plenty of places to do a little writing and leisure reading: the cafe/pizzeria (which has a bookshelf consuming an entire wall, filled with old literature), the restaurant/bar which had views of the mountains, a grassy area with similar views, and poolside tables. For the moments where I wanted to be more active, there were plenty of activities to choose from, many of which required no additional fee: hiking, biking, horseback riding, BB gun shooting, sports, etc. In sum, I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice quiet getaway that won't break the bank.

Dated but nice

Posted Sep 7, 2017
When walking into the hotel it is like walking bsck in time. The furniture, carpet and wallpaper looks old. The food is excellent. Outside is beautiful. Well kept. We didn't have good cell phone service or internet. If you are looking for a place to get away from it all, this is the place to stay. Staff is extremely nice and helpful. We had problems with the tv and remote. After two times the maintenance dept said to use controls on the tv. Could not get another remote for tv.

Worst experience of my life

Posted Sep 5, 2017
I went to stay at the Pocono Manor and so call "Resort" for 2 days. I stayed in Spruce Lodge, room 934 for our two years anniversary. I will never recommend this place to anyone. Worst experience of my life. Soon as we walked front our room, it was blocked by a folding mattress. I had to push the folding mattress away from the door to enter the room but the door is stuck so we have push it hard to enter everytime going inside. The bathroom room doesn't close. Again, we have to push it hard using my shoulder to close it. The room was very very cold and the heater doesn't work. I called the front desk and we were provided with a portable heater. Next day, I went to the front desk and told about the issues and we were giving complimentary breakfast and was told that resort fees will be removed. I was provided the the complimentary breakfast but the resort fee wasn't removed. The frontdesk told me the resort fee was removed for the first day but the second day I stayed wasnt removed. It seeems like I was tricked. I thought resort fees is a one time payment but according to the front desk, fees gets charged daily. This hotel is a scam. I paid $496 for 2 days this. This is ridiculous. They have overcharged me. my wife was stuck in the bathroom because she couldn't open the door. I had to push it hard to open it. The linen on the bed was dirty and toothpaste was provided. I will share this to all my family and relatives to make sure they NEVER stay in this hotel.

I was disappointed in our stay as we were in a room that did not resemble the brochure or pictures online. It was as if we were in the servant quarters. The bathroom was extremely outdated. I was concerned about safety as the doors were extremely thin and the doors at the end of the building would not close all the way. The parking was also difficult to manage. I will not be recommending this to others.

Enjoyed the location, room and amenities

Posted Aug 29, 2017
Check in was easy and they provided welcome info that was helpful to navigate the resort and amenities. We were pleasantly surprised by our room- comfy bed, spacious room, quiet bathroom w/o those annoying fans. The exterior is beautiful, interior is a little dated in the common areas but it was well maintained and worked for the history of the building. The outside pool, fire pit and bar area was really nice! Overall, we enjoyed the resort for our 1 night and would have enjoyed staying longer if we could have.
