Beautiful setting

Spent two days here on our way from Michigan to New York. Marvelous and beautiful setting. Check in was very easy and even got into our room early. Room was great with a very comfortable bed. Inquired at the front desk for ideas of places to go and things to see. They have directions for various areas that are beautiful. Cant wait to go back.

I would like to say , I didn't get the room I wanted because .. and I quote from the front desk "Ashley" Expedia doesn't tell the customer, getting a room you request it's not guarantee . What kind of nonsense is that? Horrible business . Didn't even ask me how my stay was. Is it because I used my Expedia points? Expedia please explain. I would even consider calling you guys and try to get my points back. Because this was horrible.

No toilet paper, towels or shower Curtain in room. Parking on a steep hill. Lobby out dated. Rooms clean but also out dated. Better off staying at a casino for a little bit more per night

Convienent

I like the idea of indoor & outdoor pools , restaurants, and afew activities on the location, hotel staff was good , rooms were decent . i say decent because there were no refrigerators & they charged 10$ a day to get one.the shower in the bathroom was making noise when put off & on , very loud noise . hotel staff was nice . Outdoor pool looked dirty so many bugs , we have gone away to many places and I know perhaps they can do a mid day clean ? I didn't want to go in but my daughter loves to swim so I did . Hotel self was very dated it needs to do an update for sure .

Old school but not necessarily in a good way

No reason an old hotel cant add modern amenities but keep its charm. This one is 1960s forever but not retro charming. Maybe the million loud kids running around (we'd all left ours home) had a better impression... Also-95 degrees-AC wasn't working-called desk @1030pm. "He'll be right up..." No show. Called again 1130pm. Guy#1 came, fitzed around then said leave it for an hr. Hr later it was even warmer. Guy #2 came-brought a wrench, which did no good, and a fan. Really? To blow hot air. Great. Left work order that said "deliver box fan-" obviously, a plan to help us out wasn't in place. Desk clerk said open a window-we were thrilled with that brilliant input, and to find no outlets anywhere near a window (BC, as I said, 1960's) to place a fan to blow "cool" air from outside (then probably dipped way down to 85). Finally @ 1am we called again-offered us a new room. Really? Now? Took off resort fee of a whopping $21&said free b'fast (but we had plans out of hotel). Desk clerk next day was obliging -took 44% off room. Just "eh" total experience. It wasn't quaint-it was a Best Western in rouge and heels. Won't go back.
