Nicer than other places in town

Milford is small and not much going on. On the website the place looks much grander than it is. The rooms, are totally beige; walls, drapes, headboard, etc. Everything is a little shabby. The old wood floors are gorgeous but have potential for splinters in your feet. There is no artwork of any sort in my room or my sister's room. The beds were fair enough, pillows not so much. My sister's room was situated in a very noisy location.
I felt the price exceeded what I was paying for especially the dining room. The cheese board was $16 (that's if my memory serves me right) and was three small pieces of 'artisanal' cheese, some jam and a few slices of baguette. My heirloom tomato salad was possibly one tomato in a very vinegary dressing. That was the same for most of the menu, small overpriced portions that were not great quality. That was in the bar. I will say I had breakfast in the dining room twice and had French toast to die for. The breakfast that comes with the stay is excellent.
The staff, however, are wonderful, friendly, kind people. They go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and welcomed.
I would recommend this hotel only if you have some money to burn and you don't mind shabby. The food is over priced, better in the dining room than the bar. But I wouldn't stay so place because they have a great breakfast, great staff and I was paying way to much overall. Im sorry staff at the Hotel that I can't recommend your establishment.
