Nice facility, a little outdatedPosted Aug 15, 2016
Pros: Clean, lots of space in villas, grounds were beautiful - peaceful.
Cons: The outdated decor from the 80's.
Location: Not a whole lot, Bushkill is about 15 minutes away, there is watersports on the DE pretty close but any of the whitewater rafting, etc. is farther.
Nice facility and lots of room in our "villa". But, a little outdated with the decor - linoleum tiles, kind of a berber carpet, etc. But, nothing was dirty or broken. The pool left a little to be desired (indoor). And the sauna was a bit gross - more of a salt buildup everywhere that was the issue. But, for the price, it was a lot of room and very comfortable - I would probably not stay in this exact area again because there wasn't a lot to do without driving 15-20 minutes. I believe this is a timeshare facility but we didn't get any sales pressure at all.

Great mini-vacationPosted Apr 28, 2016 on Hotels
The staff was terrific in every interaction, at check in, giving recommendations for activities, working at the recreation facilities, responding to any questions and requests, and at check out. All the grounds were very well maintained, the villa was meticulously clean and pretty, and when there was an issue with our air conditioning, the response and repair were unbelievably fast. The resort is located in good proximity to a number of places of interest in the Poconos. We drove to Crayola Experience one day (1 hour away) and went to an indoor water park another day (25 minutes away), but also visited Buttermilk Falls, which is on Shawnee Resort, and so convenient, my not mobile mother could sit in a wheelchair and enjoy them from a wheelchair in the field at the base. There are also many nature-related activities that are available in the area, not to mention a full schedule of activities at the resort for the guests. We will definitely be back!

More than I expectedPosted Mar 25, 2016
We had a awesome time and the kids loved it very much with the many activities offered at the recreation center. We'll definitely consider it and recommend to anyone for their next vacation.

Not what you'd expect from a WyndhamPosted Feb 16, 2016 on Hotels
This isn't as much a hotel booking as it is a time share rental. The good side is that we had a nice stand-alone condo unit that could sleep 8 for a reasonable rate. It was clean, well-kept, and all the systems of the unit were in good working order. The down side is that the overall style was something out of the mid-1980's... not necessarily bad, but not quite what was shown on the pictures. Front desk services were also a bit unique. We wanted to add a day to our stay, and the front desk was only able to suggest we call Wyndham's central office to check availability. Also, when we checked in, they immediately tried to pitch a 'free' breakfast the next morning that would've been a 90-minute attempt to sell us on timeshare ownership. (Part of the pitch for the breakfast included an apology for the high rate we were paying, believe it or not.) It's not necessarily a problem, but it was surprising to have that sprung on us in the first five minutes of our stay. We had fun when we were there and it was a good place to stay, but you should go in with the right expectations.

Nice but should have been better.Posted Nov 25, 2015 on Hotels
We stayed 2 nights and we've stayed at Shawnee before. We love Shawnee but the villa we were in the living room furniture was out dated and needed some repair. The blinds on the windows and the front door were broken and missing pieces.Other than that it was a great getaway. We paid to much to stay in a villa in that condition.

Nice hotel, peacefulPosted Nov 13, 2015
Pros: the windows, the quiet, the porch facing the woods.
Cons: Queen size beds
Location: Shawnee on the Delaware BushKill falls
We were lucky enough that our villa faced the woods and it was beautiful and quiet. Extremely clean and a nice floor plan. However, when we pulled into our parking space, a few spaces away, was 6 landscaper trucks, backhoe, and other construction equipment. Not very appealing and we didn't know if they would wake us with the noise in the morning. They didn't but we were a few houses down. Beds were comfortable, kitchen was stock with necessary pots, pans, etc., clean. Check-in was quick and we were a bit early and the room was not yet cleaned. They were quick to move forward. Going to a second check-in for parking was redundant as these folks wanted to setup a timeshare talk. All in all a good time was had by all.

Great spot for a family getawayPosted Oct 7, 2015 on Hotels
Our family of 5 spent a long weekend at the hotel/resort and had a great time. The area and grounds are beautiful and there are plenty of dining options nearby, along with a fully equipped kitchen. Hotel staff was welcoming and helpful.
Just what I wanted for the familyPosted Oct 6, 2015 on Orbitz
The rooms were large and clean. Our new 4 month old grandson had a chance to get into the pool. The kitchen was great and well stocked for our cooking needs. The fireplace was a nice touch. We didn't watch much tv, as we came to interact with our adult kids. The grounds were nice and location was just what we wanted to visit the Delaware Water Gap region. Showers were clean and lots of hot water.
